super fun!
I loved this game!! It was adorable and so much fun to play. I did have some trouble figuring out what to mix in sometimes and some of the toppings would get stuck on each other. I would rate this a 7/10! Keep up the amazing work!
"Spooky Speakeasy" is a rather weak browser/Flash tier "mixology" drink making minigame combined with a bunch of poorly written e-book text. The idea is a not uncommon one, another riff on the "restaurant/bar for monsters" theme that many amateur developers have tried and failed to succeed with (because it's really not that great of an idea). Your spooky bar is going to close down (good riddance) so you have a week to make drinks and click through cringey, badly written e-book dialogue. Or not. SteamDB shows gamers avoided this like the plague. For gameplay purposes, because the user interface for this game is mostly just 2D static text/images... it might as well be a web page. It's functionally no different from a browser game. And we all know, Steam isn't here to compete with Chrome and Firefox. If the game can be done in a web browser, it's just not rich or compelling enough to appeal to serious gamers on PC. There's an overwhelming amount of mediocre Visual Novel/E-book style cutscenes in this game. The developers failed one of the most basic, fundamental requirements of game design.. "Show, don't tell." So you'll spend a huge amount of time not playing the game, but clicking through endless lines of poorly written VN text cutscenes because the developers couldn't work out how to relate their narrative through the game mechanics, and decided instead it would be better to compete with reading a book for your time. We're here to play games, not read through hours of garbage intersituals. Your gaming rig is not a Kindle. The game features really lacklustre 2D visuals (does the developer not know 3D graphics became mainstream in the mid-1990s?). Gamers don't spend thousands of dollars on gaming rigs and the latest 3D graphics cards to play 2D games. Even mobile phones and game consoles can do 3D graphics now. There's no excuse. This game is fairly dated at 6 years old... and even back then it looked old and busted compared to contemporary, professionally made 3D games of the same period. It looked bad then, it looks worse now. Now on to pricing and value for gamers. This is "free" enough (not every "free" game in the "free" section is truly free, there's usually some hidden price tag), at least you won't be expected to spend any more money after you download this, but just because something is free doesn't mean it's good, and the cost of a game is more than just financial, your time is valuable too. Even as a free game, this couldn't find an audience. With a peak of only 7 players, it's clear the Steam community took one look and walked away. They literally couldn't pay people to spend time playing this. Since free games don't contribute to your game collector badge and other profile stuff, is this a worthwhile addition to your Steam library? Not this time. This isn't worth downloading. While this won't cost you any money, you get what you pay for, and sometimes, even when the game is free, it's still not enough.

Given the fact this game is free to play, it is an adorable game to play for about an hour. However, do not expect more than that. There are obvious bugs and glitches. The tutorial was honestly the best part. The game is broken, so I hope it can be fixed so that it is thoroughly playable. Good for a freebie.
Before I played Spooky Speakeasy, I had a small pp, no friends, no gf, depression, and no life. These things havent changed, but the game is pretty good
This is such a cute game!! I had so much fun playing it.
O jogo tem uma história relativamente interessante, a gameplay é legal mas fica cansativo depois de uns 20 mins de jogo, é meio complicado entender oq os clientes estão pedindo. Os gráficos são mto fofos e os diálogos são divertidos.
it's fun for being free, but i don't like the lack of a save feature (or if there is one that it isn't obvious). A lot of the drinks are way too complicated and the colors don't always match exactly with each other. With that said, the characters are interesting and cute, art style is pretty great, atmosphere is nice, and the tutorial is very straightforward. Would not recommend if you are colorblind.
So, I'm kind of confused. I found this game sometime last year, was able to play for hours and liked it enough to complete it, but I come back and find that it's now not compatible with my system? And that the only one it works with is windows?? What happened? I had fun and wanted to go for another run, but now I just won't be able to play it again maybe ever?
Cute game! Nice music and cool characters too. :) There isn't a save option, however it's a pretty short game with no time-sensitive parts or anything, so it's fine.
