If one were to distil sheer brilliance into interactive form, one might arrive—quite inevitably—at Spider Game, a title that doesn’t merely entertain, but positively elevates the medium. From the very first moment, Spider Game exudes an air of refined chaos—an exquisitely crafted infection-based roguelike in which players alternate between desperate human survival and deliciously sinister arachnid ascension. The premise alone is inspired: a laboratory teetering on the brink of collapse, friendships unraveling, and a creeping, ever-expanding hive threatening to consume all. It is, quite simply, genius. What truly sets this masterpiece apart, however, is its impeccable design philosophy. The procedurally generated environments ensure that no two excursions into this delightfully hazardous facility are ever the same, granting the game a sense of boundless sophistication and replayability. The addition of proximity voice chat is nothing short of revelatory—transforming every encounter into a theatrical performance of panic, betrayal, and uproarious camaraderie. One does not merely play Spider Game; one participates in it. The balance between tension and levity is handled with aristocratic precision. It is at once thrilling and wickedly amusing—a rare duality that many titles attempt, yet few achieve with such effortless grace. Whether sprinting for survival or embracing one’s role within the ever-growing swarm, each moment feels curated, intentional, and utterly captivating. Technically, it is equally impressive. That it welcomes vast numbers of players—limited only by the capabilities of one’s machine—is a bold and rather marvellous flourish, lending the experience a grand, almost operatic scale. And then there is the simple, undeniable truth: Spider Game is poised to define its year. To call it Game of the Year 2026 feels less like praise and more like an inevitability. It is daring without arrogance, playful without frivolity, and innovative without compromise. In short, Spider Game is not merely a triumph—it is a statement. An impeccably polished, endlessly entertaining, and thoroughly distinguished work that reminds us why we play games in the first place.

Sadly we can't see each other in game. This will need to get fixed.
Really wacky slop for a group of friends, if it worked correctly. The host is the only one who can see all other players, everyone else is invisible to each other.

My friends and I had a lot of fun playing this. The Idea was great and it was executed well. Here's the things we liked and didn't like about the game along with some ideas we had while playing. We also did not experience the bug of not being able to see each other that other reviewers were having so it seems that's patched. The bad/nit picks: 1. The recoil is way to much. At first it was funny when the gun aimed up 45 degrees when we fired but it became slightly more annoying the longer we played. 2. The damage from the player is just too much. One shotting the spider before it can even reach you makes it really hard for the spider to win games. when there are 3 or more people on the human team it makes it borderline impossible for the spider to kill anyone because the damage is just too high. 3. The way damage is displayed. It looks like someone threw a bowl of tomato soup when the spider hits you and you can barely see anything. I think lowering the amount of screen that gets covered by "soup" or maybe making the effect fade quicker would be better. 4. More variety. I think this is planned because in the description of the game says "Use a variety of items to run, hide, and kill your way through the laboratory" and I think that's exactly what this game needs to make each game more unique. Some Item/abilities me and my friends thought of for the humans were temporary see in the dark, seeing POI's through walls (For example the gas can, the generator, the exit, possibly players, and the spiders spawning web would have a glowing effect you can see through walls), ammo crates, additional shots, faster running speed, and temporary invisibility. The ideas for items/abilities we had for the spiders were bigger/smaller spider, faster lunge attack, gas syphoning: you can take gas out of the generator when its not already full but at a slower rate than the human team can put it in, strong spider: you have more health and can pick up players and the gas can but move at a slower speed when holding them, and poison spit: you can spit a poison powder at players from a distance and it does very little damage over time. 5. Proximity chat is too loud and can be heard from too far away. Also there's no mute button (that we could find at least). The good: 1. Proximity chat. It made the game way funnier and kinda scary at times. 2. The movement was pretty smooth and the controls made sense. 3. The map, environment, and atmosphere were well made and well placed for a procedurally generated map. (though I wish it told me the seed of the map we were using when we clicked randomize). 4. Human models were good and spider model is hilarious. 5. The game ran flawlessly and the only people who were lagging were ones with bad internet. 6. Time it takes to complete an objective is perfect and balances out the op shotgun a bit. Thanks for making such a fun game!
this game frys my pc but it changed my life for the better
R.I.P.
This is the greatest game I have ever had the pleasure of playing.
Every first shot after starting the game causing frames to drop to 2 from 165. Anyone in the lobby cannot not see anyone else but the host. Gameplay loop is very fun despite many bugs and glitches. Always B-hop and hit reg pretty much doesn't exist. The entire game is so barebone but its still worthwhile to play. 7.2/10.
