At the time of the release, it was something. You plunge into the game with your head and try to explore every corner of this beautiful. It was love from the first minutes of gameplay to the very end.
Special Ops: Operation Assault is a military-themed first-person shooter developed and published by Merla Games that focuses on delivering straightforward action through a series of mission-based combat scenarios. Rather than attempting to compete with large-scale tactical simulations or story-heavy military campaigns, the game embraces a simpler design philosophy centered on shooting, completing objectives, and progressing through increasingly challenging operations. Its emphasis on accessibility and constant action makes it a title aimed at players who want immediate firefights and familiar counter-terrorism scenarios without complicated mechanics. The game places players in the role of a special operations soldier deployed to confront terrorist threats across multiple combat zones. The campaign revolves around a variety of military assignments, including hostage rescues, bomb disposal operations, sniper engagements, and direct assaults against enemy positions. These objectives form the backbone of the experience and provide enough variety to keep the gameplay moving forward. While the narrative remains secondary to the action, the mission structure creates a sense of progression as players move from one dangerous assignment to the next. One of the game's strongest features is its focus on objective-driven gameplay. Instead of simply clearing areas of enemies, many missions require players to complete specific tasks under pressure. Defusing explosives before time runs out, protecting civilians, and eliminating key targets all add context to the combat and help create a greater sense of purpose. These objectives prevent the action from becoming entirely repetitive and encourage players to remain attentive throughout each operation. Combat is intentionally direct and easy to understand. Players are equipped with a selection of military weapons that can be upgraded over time, improving effectiveness during later missions. The weapon progression system provides a rewarding sense of advancement, allowing players to gradually strengthen their arsenal as new challenges emerge. Whether engaging enemies at long range with precision shots or moving aggressively through hostile territory, the available equipment supports a variety of combat situations. The inclusion of multiple weapon types contributes to the overall variety of the gameplay. Different missions naturally favor different approaches, and the ability to upgrade firearms creates a sense of investment in the player's equipment. As enemies become more dangerous and objectives more demanding, the improved arsenal helps maintain a satisfying progression curve. This system encourages continued play while providing tangible rewards for completed missions. Mission diversity plays an important role in maintaining engagement. Some operations focus on large-scale firefights where survival depends on quick reactions and accurate shooting, while others place greater emphasis on tactical positioning and objective completion. Sniper assignments offer a change of pace from standard assault missions, requiring patience and careful target selection. The variety may not be revolutionary, but it succeeds in ensuring that the campaign offers more than a single repetitive activity. The game's pacing is designed to keep players in action with minimal downtime. Objectives are clearly presented, and missions move quickly from one encounter to the next. This approach works particularly well for players who prefer gameplay-focused experiences over lengthy cutscenes or extensive exposition. The game rarely interrupts its momentum, consistently placing the player in situations where combat and mission completion remain the primary focus. Visually, Special Ops: Operation Assault presents a range of military environments that support its combat scenarios. Players travel through locations that include desert landscapes, industrial facilities, and hostile combat zones. The graphics are modest compared to major studio productions, but they effectively serve the game's purpose. The environments provide suitable backdrops for firefights and objective-based missions while maintaining a clear focus on functionality over visual spectacle. The sound design complements the action with weapon effects, explosions, and combat audio that help reinforce the military atmosphere. Gunfire and battlefield sounds contribute to the sense of engagement during firefights, while the overall audio presentation supports the game's straightforward action-oriented identity. Although not especially groundbreaking, the soundscape effectively enhances the gameplay experience. One of the more appealing aspects of the game is its accessibility. Players can quickly understand the mechanics and objectives without needing to learn complicated systems. This makes it approachable for newcomers to the genre and for those who simply want an uncomplicated shooter. The emphasis on clear goals and direct action allows players to focus entirely on completing missions and improving their performance. However, the same simplicity that makes the game accessible can also limit its depth. Players seeking advanced tactical systems, sophisticated enemy behaviors, or an elaborate storyline may find the experience somewhat basic. The game prioritizes familiar military shooter mechanics rather than innovation, and many of its ideas will feel recognizable to longtime FPS fans. Nevertheless, the straightforward design helps ensure that the action remains easy to enjoy. Special Ops: Operation Assault succeeds most when viewed as a focused action game rather than a complex military simulation. It delivers a steady stream of combat encounters, mission objectives, and weapon upgrades while maintaining an accessible structure that encourages players to keep progressing. The combination of rescue missions, bomb disposal tasks, sniper operations, and direct assaults provides enough variation to support the campaign and keep the gameplay engaging. For players looking for a simple military shooter that emphasizes immediate action and mission-based progression, Special Ops: Operation Assault offers a satisfying experience. While it does not attempt to redefine the genre, it successfully delivers the essentials of a modern commando adventure. Its straightforward objectives, consistent pacing, and accessible gameplay make it an enjoyable option for those who appreciate classic FPS action without unnecessary complexity. Rating: 5/10
Interesting game, but boring level design. please add : - add weapon shortcut -heal
An interesting FPS game with a fairly reasonable initial difficulty level, but it would be better if the weapon upgrade feature is limited because when it's already at its maximum, the enemies feel easier to defeat. Why isn't there a knife?

While the game might not be the most visually stunning game out there, it makes up for it with its old-school charm and pure fun factor. The gameplay is surprisingly engaging, and there's a certain nostalgia to it that brings me back to the classics.
