This is a great spirital successor to Paperboy and Im pretty sure I used to spend more than $10 in quarters on Paperboy nearly every trip to the arcade so I'd say it's a bargain. The game seems just as difficult as Paperboy and the "Sunday Edition" level was a fun change of pace. Looking forward to VirZoom support being added!
4/10 Fun Idea, but the game really lacks variety, and therefore becomes boring very quickly.
If you like Paperboy, get this. Here are my issues: - You can't steer sharply. - Cars are too fast and nearly unavoidable. - Brakes don't seem to work. - Papers don't fly far enough, so you have to be on the sidewalk. You can't throw from the street easily. - Each level seems pretty much the same.
I thought it was a lot of fun and reminds me of the old classic Paper Boy game.....but then when you team it with VR and add the motion contorls to throw the papers and steer the bike, it definitely adds a new and improved twist the original. If you grew up with the game paper boy as a kid and have a VR setup, you want to try this. Delivering papers can be fun, but so can throwing papers at people, dogs and basically terrorizing the neighborhood.
Tu vois PaperBoy ?
+Paper Boy VR +Nice Graphics -Way too buggy -Not enough areas 2/5 This game is exactly like Paperboy NES, if Paperboy was shorter, and unfinished feeling. I really want to be able to recommend this game. BUT A lot of times the rounds will start and the bike moved 3 ft ahead of where you originally were, when you grab the paper, it's hit or miss, sometimes you'll get it sometimes you wont. Until this game gets some updates, fixes some bugs, and feels like a finished game I can not recommend this.
I have 2 VIRZoom bikes, and Vive/Rift touch, 2 PCs, i7 w/ GTX1080 (please note, the dev fixed the problem I stated below. I say thats fantastic and shows they listen) We bought 2 copies of the game as a extra activity for VirZ, but we want to avoid motion sickness at any cost. Seems fine till you crash, then you see your body drop to ground, and your point of view changes so you are facing down and you raise up like 20 feet in the air. I get it, you are dead. BUT, PLEASE, make a option for simple fade out. This forced change of perspective and fast upwards motion is making us sick! I bought 2 copies of game, and we want to give positive review, but this is breaking a first law of VR, don't screw with perspective; causes sickness! Also, do you have plans for multiplayer? Thanks in advance Blaine
Controls are a bit wonky using Oculus Rift tracked motion controllers. If you can get it on sale, maybe; but, I can't say it is worth it at it's current price.
great concept but gave me extreme motion sickness afterwards, you cannot made a vr game entirely around moving extremely quickly
