The Spatial Sound Card (SSC) software is a binaural, virtual loudspeaker system for regular headphone applications. It provides virtual stereo or surround sound for any computer using regular headphones. It's highly recommended for gamers, movie enthusiasts, music lovers and 360/VR.

SSS is a waste of Money in my opinion. Why? No Auto-start with Windows, because of the Pirates of the 7 Seas (allegedly) Only a few presets... of those only 3 were usable for Gaming, TV & Movie and Music. (But they sound very good with my Sony 7.1 Headset). You can't save (to my knowledge) your presets for EQ & Room Sound. The SW has big problems to normalise high pitched sounds. Meaning you are constantly fiddeling with the Volume Knob. The SW is prone to freeze up. Solution Terminate the process... restart the Sound Card. In 2 out of 10 crashes you need to reboot Windows. 2 BSOD during my time with the Software. My 50 Cent: Save your Money... Better try: FxSound (Github) (Freeware) (works out of the Box) and the more tinker'ish EqualizerAPO in tandem with HeSuVi (Freeware) (needs work to run correctly) Both sound great... not as Great as the Paris Preset for Music or the New York Preset for Gaming, but close enough. Thanks for Reading, be well.
Yeah so I've got a few hours on this thing since I pretty much wear headphones always at home. I'm not an audio expert so I can't really give a very technical review, but I can say that this thing is so good I can't use my computer without it. I'm not exaggerating, my head really started to hurt when for some reason this didn't work one day and I had to use the regular audio. That's an issue that thankfully only occured once.
I love this program now, I mistakenly judged it very wrong. Got better headphones (Studio) and it made them sound wonderful once I got it all set up. I looked at the store page and didnt even rem leaving this. But I had to change it. This program is wonderful and the dev who makes it did a good job. I'm very sorry for not understanding that at the start.
CONFUSING INSTALLATION WITH SOME ISSUES. BUT NOW ITS FANTASTIC! - - - Initial review, disregard as issues were fixed Bought and installed, it's done something, but that something is entirely useless. It shows Speakers (SSC) in sound playback settings, but no sound comes out of it, I only have headphones connected. I cant open or find an interface/GUI/App to actually open. When I run it on Steam, it says it's opened and the green launch option becomes the blue stop option, but it doesn't do anything. Nothing shows in task manager either. - - - I ended up restarting a few times, and on one of these restarts, a window from SSC popped up saying - Unable to connect to SSC driver. I went into Sound Settings > Playback > Clicked on Speakers (my primary audio output) and disabled the "Allow apps to take exclusive control" option, and then disabled and enabled SSC in Playback. I tried opening SSC from Steam and this time it opened! Configured a few options, SSC had not detected my output device in the app itself, so I set it to Speakers and now audio comes out. Enabled surround and it sounds amazing. Easier to pick out the location from where audio is coming (better virtual surround) which is what it's supposed to do. Sounds similar to Waves NX, which I've used before. Definitely recommend!
There is way too much troubleshooting you have to do to make it run correctly, I was 40+ minutes on it tried probably atleast 10 different ways and 1 of them worked, most of them ended in sound being muted, 1 of them made so that game and browser sound would be seperated so you would have 7.1 on browser and stereo in-game, can not recommend to be honest. Especially since it add 6-20ms audio delay based on which option you choose and it costs 10$, you could probably find a better headset for 10$ on ebay or amazon
nice app....
