Sparky Marky: Episode 1 is a **free** first-person horror game where you explore an abandoned children’s recreational camp and immediately realize the kids left for a reason. You’re told to: * Look for clues * Uncover “dark secrets” * And use special commands in a *Discord* server to solve the mystery So yes, the game literally asks you to tab out and type to a bot while a deranged mascot hunts you. This is the first horror game where your greatest enemy is alt+tab. --- ### Pros * **Free single-player mascot horror** with a big creepy yellow dude who looks halfway between a kids’ show host and an OSHA violation. * Short (about 30 minutes) but dense enough that you *will* get lost, chased, and emotionally endangered in that time. * Fun gadgets and puzzles: find cards, codes, weird machines, and then realize all of them are just ways to make Sparky angrier. * Bonus ARG stuff if you actually join the Discord and start feeding a bot your in-game findings like a very cursed homework assignment. --- ### Cons * You’re exploring a deserted kids’ camp alone at night, with no pay and no HR department. Poor career choice tbh. * “Average playtime 30 minutes” somehow turns into 45 because you missed one tiny clue and did five extra cardio laps around the map. * Having to juggle game + Discord makes you feel like you’re trying to survive a monster *and* run community management at the same time. * Sparky never sleeps. You do. This is a balance issue. --- ### Peak Sparky Marky Moments * Reading “the monster inside it never sleeps” and immediately deciding to sprint everywhere anyway. * Alt-tabbing to type a command in Discord and coming back to find Sparky’s toes already in your peripheral vision. * Solving a puzzle and feeling smart for 0.7 seconds before an alarm blares and you realize you’ve just rung the dinner bell—for yourself. * Ending the episode and then voluntarily joining the Discord to dig deeper, proving you learned **nothing** from horror movies. --- 8.5/10 Short, spooky, a bit janky, and weirdly ambitious for a free first episode. Would explore abandoned kids’ camp, get chased by a possessed mascot, and DM a Discord bot for lore again.
