Space Quest: 2099

"Space Quest: 2099" is a deliberate trademark infringement of the Sierra On-line/Activision copyrighted game franchise and trademark, "Space Quest" starring hapless Roger Wilco and his satirical science fiction themed adventures. But this trademark infringement has nothing to do with that despite illegally using someone else's trademark (can't wait until they get sued). Instead it's a rather weak boomer shooter with no redeeming features, but at least they're not trying to get your money for Sierra On-Line's trademarks. What do you do in the game? Shoot stuff, or don't. This was basically a failure that didn't attract any interest from gamers. Visually, this has some fairly mediocre/dated looking graphics that will understandably be a turn off for a lot of gamers, and it's a big contributor to the failure of the game to attract gamers despite having no up-front cost. On the matter of pricing and value for gamers, most "free" games on Steam aren't really free. There's often nasty mobile app cash shops, or content locked behind DLC, or donations being requested, or any other number of shady pricing schemes that could mislead gamers, but in this case I'm glad to say this really does appear to be a fully free game. Nothing demonstrates a developers belief in themselves and their work than giving it away without any remuneration. This is a service to themselves, and the gaming industry, and should be applauded. Of course, just because something is free, doesn't necessarily mean it's valuable, or something you might want to spend your time on. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at just a dozen or so concurrent players, and now there's basically nobody playing it. Even though it's free. This is a dismal public reception, but it's easy to see why gamers rejected it. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Not this time. This isn't worth downloading. While this won't cost you any money, you get what you pay for, and sometimes, even when the game is free, it's still not enough.

gold is hard to find nowadays

Overall good map and weapon design, though I do feel like adding a page on the menu screen that tells you all the weapons and how they work could be beneficial to picking up the game.

GAME OF THE YEAR!!!! This is an honest review from a real person. This game has great gun mechanics, great sound effects, great story, absolute cinema! The graphics look just like an old Star Wars game i have on my PS2 but this is just fine. Honestly I love the voice acting i can tell you've put just a ton of work into this, and its turned out great! I mean it! I hope you go on to do great things Jordan Taylor.
