About
In this management sim, you are a nightclub owner in a dystopian cyberpunk city. You begin your career with a massive debt, and your ultimate goal is to pay it off completely. Increase your popularity, manage your club, strike business deals, and make new investments.
Sound of the Night offers an optional roguelike mode where weekly payments must be made. If you fail to pay on time, the debt grows larger next week with extra interest. Your chances of failure depend on your character background and the faction you are connected to.
With the roguelike mode disabled, you can simply enjoy the nightclub experience and manage your club without the stress of weekly payments.
Various factions shape this world. Streetrunners are at the bottom of the power struggle, acting as street muscle. Netwalkers sit somewhere in the middle, maintaining a respectable neutrality and working with other factions when it benefits them. Corporate sits at the top, representing the richest of the rich. Keep your relationship with them strong, and the law may look the other way.
There is also a civilian faction, representing the general public.
Two rogue factions are especially dangerous. If they are around, it usually means trouble, but in this world, trouble can also mean opportunity. Augments include people driven unstable by excessive augmentation, as well as full-body cyborgs. Offworlders are a total mystery; nobody truly knows who they are or what they want.
Each faction comes with different benefits. Choose your promotions based on the factions you want to reach, and increase your popularity among them. You cannot promote directly to rogue factions; only doing business with them will improve your popularity with them.
You are also a fixer. You can give jobs to other characters and take your cut if they succeed. Your club is a safe haven for every faction, and if you unlock the option, you can open it up for business deals and take your fair share.
