Unlike their other game, BAD END, this game is terribly translated, and, being a visual novel, this makes it practically unplayable. Each line takes re-reading several times and guesswork to find its meaning, and as such I'm lost before I even finish the prologue. The story, from what I have read, seems a little cheesy, which isn't a problem, BAD END certainly wasn't literary excellence, however when coupled with the poor translation, makes it feel like you're reading a young child's story. The developers have previously managed to release solid titles, despite their cheesiness, however with the game in its current state, I would recommend you leave this one on your follow list and wait for an update on the translation so that you can start to make sense of it. Until that time, I do suggest going and checking out their other game, BAD END, to get a feel for what this developer can release when on form.
A good Visual Novel game with a cool Story. effects and sounds are good. price is alright. all achievements work.
found it boring, there is a guide that helps you get all endings buy this game is boring lame "good ending" and bland artwork. A pass on this one.
Forgot I had this game ngl Still though definitly the best purchase I've ever made ever. Of all time.
Easy 100% / 30-60min.
Sorcerer's Dream is a fantasy visual novel developed by Arai Koh Create Office and published by YOX-Project. It centers on a narrative-driven experience where player decisions shape the direction of the story, placing its emphasis on character relationships, magical intrigue, and multiple endings instead of traditional gameplay systems. Designed for fans of interactive storytelling, it blends romance, mystery, and supernatural adventure into a journey that rewards careful reading and thoughtful choices. The story follows Yuu Kisaragi, a seemingly ordinary young man whose childhood encounter with a mysterious old man granted him magical powers. As a child, he imagined himself becoming a legendary hero, but those dreams gradually faded as he settled into a peaceful and uneventful life. His quiet routine is shattered when he saves a young witch named Michaela, whose appearance draws him into a hidden world of sorcerers, ancient conflicts, and dangerous enemies. What begins as a chance meeting quickly evolves into an adventure where destiny, sacrifice, and powerful magic become intertwined with Yuu's forgotten past. The game's premise succeeds because it gradually reveals its secrets instead of overwhelming players with exposition, creating a sense of curiosity that remains strong throughout the story. A defining strength of Sorcerer's Dream is its branching narrative. Player choices influence relationships, story progression, and ultimately which ending is reached. Rather than presenting choices that exist only for cosmetic differences, many decisions lead to unique scenes and alternate developments that encourage multiple playthroughs. This structure adds meaningful replay value, as players can revisit the story to uncover different perspectives, unlock additional content, and experience outcomes that may dramatically change the emotional impact of the narrative. The cast plays a major role in keeping the adventure engaging. Yuu is portrayed as a relatable protagonist whose growth feels believable as he slowly accepts the responsibilities tied to his magical abilities. Michaela serves as both the emotional core of the story and one of its greatest mysteries, with her troubled past and uncertain future providing much of the narrative tension. Supporting characters expand the magical world with their own motivations, personalities, and rivalries, ensuring that the story never feels limited to a single relationship. The interactions between these characters create moments of warmth, suspense, and emotional conflict that help maintain the player's investment. Visually, the game embraces an attractive anime-inspired presentation that suits its fantasy setting well. Character artwork is expressive, allowing conversations to convey emotion even without elaborate animation. Beautiful event illustrations reward major story moments, while the included CG gallery lets players revisit unlocked scenes after progressing through different routes. Backgrounds complement the magical atmosphere, creating environments that reinforce the sense of adventure without distracting from the dialogue. Although the visual style remains faithful to classic visual novel conventions, it possesses enough charm to keep the presentation consistently appealing. The soundtrack also contributes positively to the overall experience. Gentle melodies accompany quieter conversations, while more dramatic tracks heighten moments of danger and emotional revelation. Completing the game unlocks a music gallery that allows players to listen to the soundtrack whenever they wish, adding another incentive for those who enjoy collecting every bonus feature. Together with the CG gallery, these extras extend the game's value beyond a single playthrough. From a technical perspective, Sorcerer's Dream delivers a polished visual novel experience with an intuitive interface that allows players to focus entirely on the story. Navigation is simple, text presentation is clear, and additional features such as Steam Achievements and Steam Cloud support provide welcome conveniences for completionists and players who enjoy switching between devices. The overall design avoids unnecessary complexity, making it approachable for both experienced visual novel fans and newcomers. The game's deliberate pacing may not appeal to everyone. Much of its runtime is devoted to dialogue, world-building, and developing relationships before the larger magical conflicts fully emerge. Players seeking action-heavy gameplay or complex mechanics may find the experience slower than expected. However, those who appreciate character-focused storytelling will likely view this measured progression as one of the game's greatest strengths, as it allows emotional moments and major plot twists to feel earned rather than rushed. Sorcerer's Dream may not reinvent the visual novel genre, but it delivers an enjoyable fantasy adventure supported by memorable characters, meaningful choices, and a satisfying blend of romance and supernatural mystery. Its replayable structure, appealing artwork, polished presentation, and engaging narrative make it an easy recommendation for readers who enjoy story-driven games where every decision has the potential to reshape the journey.
