Note: Dead PvP game This game contains no meaningful single player content. There are no available servers and no player population. This game cannot be played as intended.
"Soran" is a laughably bad abandoned Early Access tech demo for a fully paid game that was never made (because nobody wanted this garbage and the developer gave up when the cold hard truth hit them). It's an FPS arena shooter designed for 1v1 PvP, there was an intended single player campaign that the developer abandoned (but he did keep all the money from any gamers unfortunate or confused enough to pay him money for this crap). The developers abandoned this 2 years and 2 months ago. It will never be completed. This unfinished game is just polluting Steam and making it harder for gamers to find genuinely, completely made games. The graphics here are particularly awful, so bad that it actually stands out as one of the worst looking games on Steam. Some of the laziest low poly junk ever dumped on a game (and some probably asset flipped trees). Quite an accomplishment for a game to look this bad. It's a big contributor to the failure of the game to attract gamers despite having no up-front cost. Gaming is a primarily visual medium, and if developers want to succeed, they must understand that it's not an area for compromise. On the important matter of pricing and value for gamers, there's a lot going on here with monetisation, so this really shouldn't be considered a truly free product because of that. There's no initial download price, but the developer was charging $10 USD for this. Price barriers, especially on low quality products, can be a direct cause of failure. It seems like a nice gesture for the game to have no up-front cost anymore, but it also tells us that the game wasn't good enough to succeed as a paid product. This is also a bit of a slap in the face to anyone who showed enough questionable judgement to pay money for this... nobody got refunded. So this is "free", but it's abandoned. Worse, it was never intended to be free. The developer intended to charge TWENTY UNITED STATES DOLLARS above and beyond the previous $10 price for this if it ever left Early Access... but the developer just couldn't be bothered. Making this abandoned pollution that gamers need to filter through when searching for products made by more ethical developers who fulfill their promise to deliver on their Early Access commitment instead of breaking that promise. Was this pricing one of the strangest and most misguided attempts at running a scam ever seen on Steam? Or was the developer genuinely delusional enough to think people would pay money for this? In terms of public reception, this failed. There's over 130 million unique gamers visiting Steam every month. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 8 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Given that this free title won't increase your game collector count, is it worth your time to add it to your library? Nope. This isn't worth downloading. I didn't pay money, but I still feel ripped off.
