Dr. Eggman’s (AKA Dr. Robotnik’s) Death Egg was once again blasted by Sonic, crash-landing on the peak of a volcano on the Floating Island. Dr. Eggman is still at large, and Sonic can’t allow him to get his hands on the Master Emerald and repair the Death Egg. Sonic must also keep Knuckles off his back but Knuckles has problems too.

I really wanted to replay this game, i completed it when i was a child, at first in Sonic & Knuckles, in my Sega Genesis, then in my old Pentium 4, with Sonic Mega Collection +, then the same, but in PS2, and at last here in Steam, i love the graphics, the gameplay, the design, the soundtrack, some bosses are kinda lazy, but most of them are fine, Sandopolis Act 2, it's one of my favourite levels from all videogames, even until today. I had some problems with edges while going at high speed, sometimes i didn't do anything out of normal and i get killed by edges now and then, specially while Sonic it's at Hyper form, but overall, i think it's one of the best, if not the best Sonic game.
Really amazing to see such piece of history. A game that works as a DLC for this bundle: The SEGA Mega Drive and Genesis Classics. Which is basically a legal emulation bundle. This game is originally from 1994. Very old. And: I'm happy to see it included on Steam. I have two main positives to say about that: The first cool positive: The ROM is included. Which is fantastic for the fans of emulation. We can boot it up for example in RetroArch. Or pretty much any other software for emu. I can't stress enough: How awesome that is. An actual ROM legally obtainable on Steam. It's perfect, but let's get to the 2nd positive: Steam Workshop is supported and It's dope. Who would've guessed we'll get retro mods. It's a lovely addition to the retro experience. However there are some negatives in here: You can't buy it anymore for weird reasons. They released a newer collection of Sonic. Which is arguably a truly worse collection. Not to mention: A lot more expensive one. I really dislike that they removed this DLC. Which is why I had to give it a bad review. I will change my review if they return this.

Sonic 3 with Knuckles is definitely the best Sonic game I have played. They have taken everything that was great about Sonic 2 and just made it that bit better. The level design is excellent, the switchable gravity in the death egg zone is especially fun even if it is a bit of a mind ♥♥♥♥. Each of the playable characters have their own special abilities and Knuckles has a different final boss fight too. Also having different types of shield is a very nice addition to the game. Yet despite all that it is probably Sonic 2 that I am going to come back to for nostalgia's sake. If you like any of the previous Sonic games this one is very much worth playing at least once.
Soy mentor en Steam!!
http://store.steampowered.com/curator/31570421/
Complete Sonic 3 & Knuckles.
First expansion pack on console to my knowledge. We always felt Sonic 3 was unfinished and we aren't sure if this was planned, but it seemed like it in retrospect. Some of those levels had parts we knew for a fact were there but you couldn't get to until the expansion. Besides that it felt rushed and truncated. The expansion made up for it, but I'm sure at high cost to my mom. lol. The expansion was pure magic. Like the coolest thing ever.
I'm certain that many people already have played this in some form either on here or another platform. Nevertheless, it is a timeless classic and is worth coming back to time and time again.
(I actually figured out how to write a review for this, even if the Steam Store page doesn't allow it) Sonic 3 & Knuckles, or just Sonic 3 (as S3K was meant to be the "full version" of Sonic 3) is what I consider my favorite Sonic game, or even my favorite Sega Mega Drive game, period. To some that may seem like a huge overstatement, and while that may be true - no other Mega Drive game has kept me captivated as much as this game has. I don't know where to start. I guess the music would be a good place to begin? While not holding my favorite Mega Drive OST out there, Sonic 3 has some of the most classic tunes in the franchise's history. Bangers like Death Egg Zone, Launch Base Zone, Ice Cap Zone and especially Flying Battery Zone. The music is adrenaline-inducing and generally fits the fast-paced gameplay. Level design is also another part I want to praise. While I do agree that later on in the game the level design can get a little bit annoying, with places like Flying Battery Zone Act 1 and Sandopolis Zone Act 2 with how much you're forced to stop & go, overall the game is held-bent on keeping a fast pace going. Sonic 1 failed in this regard where 4 out of its 6 zones wouldn't have felt out of place in something like Super Mario Bros., and Sonic 2 nearly perfected it, only fluffing it up with zones like Mystic Cave & Wing Fortress, Sonic 3 builds upon what Sonic 2 had in its structure. I'm also impressed at the technical marvel they managed to accomplish with the Genesis hardware, such as smooth level transitions from Act 1 to 2 and each act having its own separate music track, alongside bosses for act 1 and act 2 with their own accompanying themes. In a lot of ways - Sonic 3 broke grounds for what the Sega Mega Drive could actually do. Are there stinkers in here? Of course there are. I'm namely not a fan of specific stages. I've already mentioned Flying Battery Act 1 and Sandopolis Act 2, but the entire "Sonic & Knuckles" half of Sonic 3 is just really all over the place. Mushroom Hill is a fun zone to play all around but Lava Reef is a bit too crushing block happy and what feels like inconsistent difficulty. Sky Sanctuary is a really fun stage - one of my favorites, but while Death Egg has an amazing soundtrack - its level design really leaves a lot to be desired with control being often taken away and the act 2 boss being a tad too gimmicky for my taste. Overall - Sonic 3 is honestly a keeper. I'm glad this is one way to play it legally, as due to its copyright issues - Sega hasn't re-released this game anywhere else. If you want an even better experience - I recommend Sonic 3 A.I.R. or Sonic 3 Angel Island Revisited. Think of it as a more complete version of Sonic 3 Complete or comparable to a Christian Whitehead remaster of the game. A great game becomes even better. This is a game I think I'll continue to come back to for years to come, as I have for the last decade pretty much.
