i went into something expecting a similar kind of experience to nothing, and while it definitely has its own identity, i couldnt help but compare the two the entire time. something is, in many ways, a more traditional take on the same kind of idea. theres a bit more structure, a bit more going on, and at times it feels like its trying to meet the player halfway instead of fully committing to its concept. thats not necessarily a bad thing, it makes the experience more approachable, but it does change the overall feel quite a bit. where something really stands out is in how it builds on the foundation. theres a clearer sense that youre interacting with, well, something. it gives you more to latch onto, more to interpret, and more moments where you feel like the game is actively responding to you. for players who found nothing a bit too abstract or minimal, this will probably be a big plus. that said, i found myself missing the purity of nothing. something adds layers, but those layers sometimes take away from the quiet impact that made nothing so memorable. instead of sitting with the experience, i occasionally felt like i was being nudged along, even if only slightly. there are still plenty of moments where something shines, though. it has a stronger sense of presence, and in some ways it feels more alive. the atmosphere is still thoughtful and deliberate, and theres clearly a lot of care put into how everything is presented. it just leans a little more toward being a conventional experience, which may or may not be what youre looking for. i also appreciated how something tries to expand on the ideas rather than just repeat them. it doesnt feel like a copy, it feels like an exploration of what else could be done within this kind of design philosophy. even when it doesnt land as strongly, the intent is clear, and that effort is worth recognizing. at the same time, i think that added complexity is a bit of a double edged sword. part of what made nothing so impactful was how unfiltered it felt. something, by comparison, feels slightly more guided, slightly more defined. it gives you more, but in doing so, it leaves a little less room for your own interpretation. thats probably going to come down to personal preference. if you want something a bit more tangible, something will likely resonate more with you. if you prefer a completely open ended, almost meditative experience, nothing still stands above it in my opinion. overall, something is still a really interesting and worthwhile experience. it takes risks, it experiments, and it offers a different perspective on the same core ideas. even if i personally prefer nothing, im glad something exists, it makes me appreciate both games more. i would recommend this game as more of a starter game so that you can eventually work your way up to play nothing.

Okay so, I woke up to accidently doing Nothing for 1003.7 hours. To make up for it I now did Something for 1004.0 hours. What could possibly be next? This surely can't end here
Least interesting game I've ever played. Could not recommend highly enough. 1 trillion/10
