Sofia's Dark Fantasies — Season 1: Episodes 1 & 2

First time in 20+ years I review a game on Steam. This is just AI slop and it is poorly executed. I can get behind the story but the AI slop just brings me out of it in one minute intervals. Music clips out and in. (no music over AI clips, this happens at least every 30 seconds for the time I played) Those houndreds of animations in the desciption, is maybe something later on. But what is in the start is only short AI slop, 5 second clips, a close up of Sofia blinking, sometimes her mouth moving without dialouge. And yes, the AI slop is bad, body parts change size and color in the same scene. If they would just stay to their own renders, and put in some work with that, instead of putting in time with the prompts and shipping it, it would probably be much better.

It was obviously made by someone who cares more about aesthetics than storytelling. About 90% of the AI-generated animations are pointless and add no value to the game. What's especially annoying is how the game constantly transitions into these animations: the screen fades to black, and only then does the animation start. It completely disrupts the flow and quickly becomes repetitive.

Каждый кадр выверен, тут постарались на славу, плавные кинематографические анимации и качественная озвучка сцен также присутствуют. Отдельный респект за музыкальное сопровождение 🎶 Музыка идеально попадает в настроение, задает густой вайб и погружает в эти темные фантазии с головой. А теперь о главном о Софии. Она просто абсолютная богиня! Ее внешность это эталон женственности: безупречные черты лица, манящий взгляд инфлюенсера и просто роскошная, точеная фигура. Сказать, что у нее идеальные пропорции ничего не сказать. А когда она появляется в этих обтягивающих лосинах, которые сидят на ней как вторая кожа, сердце начинает биться в три раза быстрее. Лосины подчеркивают каждый изгиб ее бедер и облегают ее сочную, подтянутую попку настолько идеально, что невозможно оторвать глаз. визуал пушка для уровня ИИ, от которого бросает в жар! 🍑🔥По сюжету можно отыгрывать верную жену, а можно пуститься во все тяжкие по ветке полного разврата и коррупции Софии. Контента уже сейчас не мало и не много (хочется обязательно увидеть больше), тем более ожидается третий эпизод: сочные рендеры и много анимированных сцен в двух эпизодах окупают покупку на все 100%. 10 влажных фантазий из 10. Разработчики, продолжайте в том же духе! 💦

Ignore the majority of the negative reviews as its part of an anti-AI steam users group that are trying to make a point. (only point they really made was that if people create a bandwagon, people jump on...nothing new) Anyway, is this game perfect? No, but does the majority well. Are there graphics/render problems? Yes, but I didn't expect perfection. (And some are rofl, like the car driving backwards in the background in one scene) Are there issues with the story? Maybe, but none that were such rubbish that I ragequit the game. To have interesting stories, you kinda need to have a wth storyline that can be mildly unbelievable. Biggest flaw? No steam achievements. If they were here, I'm sure the game would be flooded with completionists as well as flip some of the negative reviews to positive. Is it worth it? YES! I am one of those that am on the appreciate-AI bandwagon as it is different. The biggest thing is the videos, which is newly being utilized(Like: Jason) in these games. With anything new, it takes time for both both the devs and the tools to connect/mature. As more games come out like this, the better all around everyone will be. (remember the first unreal engine and now how many games use it?)

I really wanted to like this, but I have to admit that it's just a bad waste of money. I paid $15 for this and regret it deeply. Here's why: 1) Weird, sloppy AI images and animation that have very little consistency or quality, The VAST majority of all the touted "cut scene" animations are completely useless and serve zero purpose. You'll be clicking through just trying to get to something, ANYTHING interesting and be suddenly interrupted with an animation of one of the characters nodding their head and saying "I just have so much work!" while sitting at an office desk or something equally inane. 2) Boring. It's just so painfully boring. The bulk of the "game" is the MC driving around in her ridiculous car and trying on ugly outfits. Then driving to another friend, getting coffee, then trying on more outfits. Then driving to another character and talking about their social media presence. Then driving (You get the picture). I kept waiting and waiting for something, anything interesting to happen, hoping that it would get better. It never does. The plot is supposed to have an element of corporate espionage with the MC trying a innovative cheating app, but you're hard-pressed to experience any of that plot because the hollow character interactions are all so long-winded and uninteresting. There is not a single character in this story that sticks out as someone I'd want to know more about. 3) Character design. The women are beautiful and very nicely rendered, but for some reason all of the men are these craggy, weird grandpas with wrinkley, saggy bodies and long hooked noses. I don't mean like middle-aged, I mean the look like they're in their 70's or older. I'm not sure if this is the designer's fetish / kink, but it's very off-putting and repulsive. 4) The main character is an extremely unlikable, vapid ass. The MC is extremely self-absorbed and a possible narcissist. The entire story is all about her wealth and good looks. All the supporting characters comment on how beautiful, successful and rich she is and she basically just drives around town the whole story basking in other people's admiration of how perfect she is. When she does have any sort of character interaction, it's always based on how great she is or is her talking down to other people. You can have an unlikable MC, but you've got to give us something to want to keep following this character, otherwise it's just repellant. Sadly, the character never develops any personality traits or gets any story hooks that would make us care about her. She literally is just a self-absorbed, shallow jerk.

This game just didn't live up to what I was expecting. I've played a number of dating sims/interactive stories, the format of this one was different so I took a chance on it even if the premise of an unhappy trophy wife isn't my favorite. Cons: -Slow story pace -The AI scenes honestly aren't needed, there was a lot of close ups of the main character blinking/smiling, it was repetitive. -So many driving scenes -All of the male characters are ugly. The husband might be the only decent male character I've seen so far which is disappointing considering how many scenes Sofia has with the old homeless guy in such a short time. -Sofia is super annoying, very whinny, kind of a b**** if I'm being honest. I played collectively for like 85ish minutes and I just didn't enjoy it. I tried to push through to see if it got better, but it just wasn't working for me. Maybe other people will enjoy it but I will be done with it.

bought this for myself, ended up telling like 3 friends about it. the story is surprisingly good, visuals are top notch, and theres enough content now with both episodes to feel like you got your moneys worth. if youre into VNs at all just get it

The main character is horrendously obnoxious, with an incessant inner monologue about how unappreciated she is in her INCREDIBLY privileged life. You'll wish that this was The Sims so you could send her to the swimming pool and remove the ladder.

AI animations are as unnatural as one would expect, but on top of that they have inconsistency and incontinuity issues (sure, that's difficult to get right, but that's why the publisher charges money for this, right?). And, as someone else pointed out in the reviews, the integration of the AI scenes into the stills sequence is very interruptive. Then the audio, it's repetitive (like a car arriving 10 times in a scene) and again interruptive when there are AI scenes. I'm convinced that AI can be used as a tool to make affordable yet high quality visuals for AVNs, but this isn't it. This just feels like a low effort VN that looks decent because of its use of AI.... it's a shame because the render quality got me quite interested. I'm considering refunding this. Edit: I sped up through the story to see whether it would improve but it just seemed to get worse. This is a full release game which to me means that the dev probably won't look back and fix the disengaging flow of things - prove me wrong. Currently my opinion stands at that this game would've been better without the animated AI scenes and just stay with the AI polished blender renders, which sometimes look stunning and sometimes look.. well.. not quite that. But at least that wouldn't disengage me every now and then. I hope the dev achieves what they want to achieve with this, good luck. I'll probably give it another go in a week or so when I've adjusted my expectations.
