About
The main character, a student-programmer named Elliot, has been struggling with mental disorders for a long time. He dreams of one thing – to create a robot assistant that would warm him in the winter of 1999. One day, he receives a floppy disk with a mysterious messenger from his best and, perhaps, only friend. It seems that this program knows more about him than he does, and every conversation with it reveals new aspects of his inner world.
Help Elliot overcome his mental issues and confront his inner demons. Become part of a philosophical journey through the lens of technology and the human psyche.

Man chill with the music, it's just a pixel game. You didn't need to go that hard
The story was interesting at first but then became quite weird and all around halfway through. Still, a fun experience, but I'm definitely not a fan of its direction. The art style's great, keeping the playable world simple but aesthetically pleasing, while scenes have very good and profound art. Even though I couldn't understand any of the voice-over, the VAs' passion and soul for the act can be heard without a shadow of a doubt. The music's nice as well, although not all of it would be my choice to best fit some scenes. My only issue with the game is the untranslated texts in the background. There aren't many. They barely even provide any amount of useful context. But it's still a quality of life issue that degrades the experience ever so slightly, just like the movement bound only to WASD and not arrows as well.
Cool short game. It also helped me practice my Russian.
Snowfall's Mystery is more book than game... an "interactive novel"/adventure game from Russia (of course). The book component, is, of course, a high school anime club dropout fan-fiction all about the author and his imaginary anime girlfriend. In this garbage novel, the plot is somewhat ripped off from Weird Science, the author creates his imaginary girlfriend with a floppy disk (an old kind of portable digital media). It is, of course, pure garbage. Here's why. Trying to address social issues through the medium of video games is misguided and can be harmful. While it's plausible to suggest the intention was noble, this can do more harm than good. Game developers are not professionals in areas of mental health and social problems, and when they use video games to pretend they are, this can cause far more harm than good. It's my opinion that it's improper to use video games to push political or social agendas. Apart from the harm such hamfisted attempts at addressing social problems can cause, this offers zero benefit to PC gamers. People suffering from health issues or other social problems should seek out professional help rather than going to crap shovelware video games attempting to get sales by exploiting such problems for their own benefit, as is the case here. This game has been translated from some other language into English... badly. If this was done through Google Translate, Google Translate should feel ashamed of itself. Regardless, the language in this game is broken and will put off a lot of gamers. There's an overwhelming amount of mediocre Visual Novel/E-book style cutscenes in this game. The developers failed one of the most basic, fundamental requirements of game design.. "Show, don't tell." So you'll spend a huge amount of time not playing the game, but clicking through endless lines of poorly written VN text cutscenes because the developers couldn't work out how to relate their narrative through the game mechanics, and decided instead it would be better to compete with reading a book for your time. We're here to play games, not read through hours of garbage intersituals. Your gaming rig is not a Kindle. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. The game only displays in 4:3 pillarboxed aspect ratio. It's possible they developed this using an old CRT they found in a dumpster, or this game has been specifically designed for people gaming on PC's from 1995... either way, this isn't really acceptable in the modern era of PC gaming. A choice was made to use obsolete, decades old retro pixel "art" as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result. To make matters worse, while lazy, low quality pixel "art" has been used, making the game look bad, many elements of the game aren't done with pixelcrap... which accomplishes a couple of things. First, it shows the developers perhaps could have done better and they knew it, so that's a major screwup. Secondly, it destroys any hopes the developer had of creating a "retro aesthetic" as their excuse for the lazy pixelart compromise... It looks completely inauthentic from a retro gaming perspective. Visually, this is a hamfisted mess, a dogs breakfast of bad visuals, and this kind of laziness and poor quality should never be foisted on gamers. The controls can't be customised, which will be an annoyance for many, but it can also render the game unplayable for differently-abled gamers, left handed gamers or gamers using AZERTY or other international keyboard layouts. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. The poor quality of this game is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 10 players. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 130 million gamers on Steam and well over 140,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected. So, should you buy this game? Is this one of the best of the 140,000+ games on Steam? Snowfall's Mystery is relatively cheap at $3 USD, but it's not worth it. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, this is impossible to recommend. This is also competing with over 14,000 free games available on Steam, many of them far better than this paid product.
Profile Features Limited! Valve have marked this game as "Profile Features Limited" at the time of this review. This is usually caused by poor sales figures and low community acceptance for the game (to date). Until this status changes, this game will not give you +1 to your Game Collector badge count, appear in profile achievements or any other Steam meta-accomplishments, nor can it be displayed in some profile showcases. If these factors are important to you, it may be worth holding off before buying this game.
