My review is from the perspective of a non-RTS player, who finds the overwhelming level of micro-decisions and micro-actions needed to play other RTS's completely uninteresting to master. As such, I was drawn to the game's incredibly clever unit mechanic: Essentially, everything is an upgraded rock! Need a resource generator? turn your rock into a generator! Need a watchtower? turn your generator into a watchtower! Need a melee grunt? turn your rock into a melee grunt! Need a ranged grunt? just turn the melee grunt into a ranged grunt! Need an even stronger ranged tank thing? just turn a ranged grunt into that! No more complicated upgrade trees for building with a bunch of different resourced needed to build them and needing to worry about where you build them! Everything is fueled by one resource! And you just spawn rocks (Base Smelogs) and can build everything you need out of them! Most importantly, and this is where it gets into the deep and actually interesting micro-decisions, you can downgrade any unit back to the previous form, gain some resources back, and you can now use the rock for a different thing! Like you might upgrade your melee to a fast rolling ball, go scout around and when you reach a spot on the map you want to build a secondary/backup base in (from which you can spawn your rocks) you can downgrade your rollers and turn them into the secondary base, or generators or watchtowers or deadly traps, anything!! On top of this you have very clean and explicit fog of war that does not make you feel unnecessarily paranoid or cramped, it doesn't feel like you fighting the game constantly like in other RTS! Overall I HIGHLY recommend Smelogs as your first RTS experience, especially for the JUICY price of FREE! :D

Fast paced RTS that's fun to play with friends. It has an innovative system that allows you to setup your starting base layout and the spells feel satisfying to use.
Extremely easy to pick up for an RTS. Although the game only has one faction, it offers a variety of skills that allows different gameplay styles and strategic options. The basebuilding is interesting too. I could not beat the AI. But maybe you'll be better at it. Recommended.
Come to play a refreshing and action-packed game. Stay for the cult of the tog!
Very fun and enjoyable game! Everything feels smooth and well thought out, you can tell how much love the developers put into every detail and every facet of the game. The setting and world feel unique and creative. Gameplay wise it starts out with a beginner-friendly tutorial, then develops a surprising amount of depth that allows for skill expression and figuring out tactics that work (or don’t) for any given match. The developers also seem very receptive to feedback, I see a bright future for this game. Definitely worth giving it a try!
This is an enjoyable game with great mechanics and a good amount of strategic depth. And you can play the game for free, so definitely worth a try!
There's literally no reason to not try it out. If youre on the page, interested, and now reading reviews; just play it and see what YOU think, bc this is honestly a great game imo
