SLG Remix

I am 32 years old. My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old. When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand I desperately needed to ensure I could continue providing. Upon learning the severity of the self-inflicted damage, I became almost suicidal. Keep in mind that just a few months before this, I was the happiest man, with no history of depression or anxiety. I had never experienced anger outbursts, nor was I the type to break down and cry, but I was in a tough situation that truly prevented me from seeing the light on the other side. With nothing better to do, I looked for a game I could play WITH ONE HAND while recovering. Somehow, I stumbled upon this game and read some of the comments. I decided it was worth a try... I must admit I didn't beat the game, nor did I play as much as some of you. In fact, I may have played this game for only a day or two. That being said, after doing so, I had a new joy and hope for life. I managed to leave behind the pain and suffering that had been thrust upon me. I could experience the joy and happiness of other people. I relaxed for 5 ♥♥♥♥ minutes listening to this music, long enough to realize that I would be okay. After realizing this, I turned off the game and went back to work. My hand hurt a lot, but I was motivated. I stopped feeling so sorry for myself and became the father I needed to be at that moment, not the weak boy I was behaving like. Today, I am close friends with the mother of my children. We don't fight, argue, or say hurtful things to each other. We are parents and friends. Now I have 3 children. My third child is, wait, ALSO 4 YEARS OLD. The woman I am with was going through a very similar situation at the time of my separation, and we just unexpectedly stumbled into each other's lives. We have been dating for a year and are very happy together. Moral of the story: you never know what life has in store for you, and if I had given up when all odds were against me, I wouldn't be where I am today. This silly little game helped me realize that. Thank you.

This is not a game. It's a picture book with really eerie music and visuals, and a pretty bad one at that. It will take about 15-20 minutes to read the linear description of events happening depending on how fast of a reader you are if you even care to read this pathetic excuse for a short story. Straight from the description: "...all choices, battles, bad endings and Secret ending have been removed." So, pretty much all the good stuff that would have made this "game" a tad more exciting.

Encore un titre qui va droit au panthéon des bouses et autres daubes vidéoludiques! Payer pour ça??? J'appelle ça de l'escroquerie!! Ayant joué à l'original je confime que ceci est une bouse atomique! Un "remix" de l'original? Ha... Déjà on peut pas qualifier cette daube de jeu. Ca se résume à du blabla bien chiant plus cours que l'original dans une toute petite fenêtre!! Même pas en plein écran et cerise sur le gâteau un menu avec des option factices qui sert à rien à part pour la déco qui permet de sauvegarder, charger, cacher les messages (??) et même de sauter les dialogues! La bonne blague!! Cette bouse se résume à cliquer, lire, cliquer etc. En même pas 10min de clics c'est fini! ENcore moins avec le "skip" Saugarder quoi? Charger quoi? Au moins dans l'original on était en plein écran sur la télé (même maintenant en émulation) et on pouvais choisir notre chemin, nos actions on pouvait "explorer". Là? Ba simplement cela a disparu! Clic, lis, clic... Bref, à l'époque c'était un jeu. Là on n'a une bouse sans intéret...

Oh dear. Where to start? :( I guess here: "(all choices, battles, bad endings and Secret ending have been removed)". Removing what little gameplay a game has is not a feature. You can play through the Sega Genesis version in an hour, with all endings (despite not having enough checkpoints to make that pleasant). Since this is just a couple kilobytes of text, you can play it in mere minutes. I had hoped that by playing the Steam version after the Sega version, on my stream, I'd fill in some of the holes. Instead, it was a few minutes of me clicking while muttering "wtf? this is almost exactly the same, but worse!". Plus side is that I got to swap between the Sega and Steam screens to compare them side-by-side and decide that the Steam version even looks inferior. Hell, it looks like the in-game encyclopedia was removed even! My advice? If you must play this game, get the Sega Genesis version. If Sasha Darko ever releases another variant of this on Steam, the only way I might buy it is if it's a slightly fixed (audio pops and some wonky text are the biggest things to me) version of the Sega ROM, either included with an emulator or some other way of being fair to the source material and players, both. I feel terrible marking this game as Not Recommended, but I can't do otherwise in good faith. I mildly recommend the cartridge, but can't recommend this remix at all.
