I had heard so many great things about this game but I kept putting it off, because every time I looked the trailer I thought "that art looks awful" After sinking so many hours into this game I can confidently say: It still looks awful. Also the story is uninteresting and unimportant. The music is meh. But the core gameplay loop is a highly refined spice of the upmost quality. The gameplay makes you feel like you're mining for gold every time you find another combo that works well, while still failing miserably most of the time (I never said I was good at this game). The gameplay requires enough thought and constant consideration to remain interesting and yet feels so familiar and simple that it can be played effortlessly and comfortably when trying to relax or too tired to do anything else. The balance is so meticulous, that no single item would be of much help on it's own, but still makes one exited to think about the possibilities when paired with everything else. Good stuff. Also, the bad art is a strength, in a way. It means mods can add lots of content and not look out of place because the bar is so low. I mean that quite honestly, I enjoyed playing with mods a lot.
