Sky: Children of the Light is one of those games that feels very different from most things I normally play. I am exploring a beautiful fallen kingdom as a little child of the light, travelling through seven realms, finding spirits and collecting Winged Light to improve my ability to fly. There is not really a traditional combat system or a big list of enemies for me to fight. Instead, the main focus is exploring, flying, finding secrets and slowly working out what happened to this world. That slower approach took me a little while to get used to, but once I settled into it I started enjoying the atmosphere a lot more. The flying is easily my favourite part. Moving through the world feels smooth and relaxing, especially once I have collected enough Winged Light to stay in the air for longer. I can glide across huge areas, dive down into places that looked unreachable and look for hidden spirits and collectibles along the way. I like that movement itself feels like part of the exploration instead of just being a way to get from one quest marker to another. The seven realms also give me different environments to explore, so there is a decent sense of progression as I move through the world. I also really like how the game handles its social side. I can meet other people naturally while exploring, but I do not have to constantly talk to them or form a party if I do not want to. I can use emotes, hold hands, share light and gradually build friendships. The limited communication in the wider world actually fits the atmosphere quite well because I am often just seeing another character flying around and helping them with something without needing a conversation. There are also shared spaces, messages and the ability to decorate my own Nest, which gives me more things to do outside the main exploration. The presentation is probably the strongest thing about Sky for me. The environments are beautiful without trying to look realistic, and the music does a lot of the work when it comes to creating the emotional atmosphere. I can spend a lot of time simply flying around and looking at the scenery because the game makes the world feel peaceful and mysterious at the same time. The different spirits also give the exploration some purpose because I am not just collecting random objects. I am finding memories and returning them to the constellations, which makes the world feel like it has a history behind it. The biggest problem for me is that the actual gameplay can feel very repetitive once the initial sense of discovery starts to disappear. A lot of my time is spent collecting light, finding spirits, gathering candles and returning to familiar areas. There are puzzles and seasonal activities, but I do not get the same feeling of constant progression that I would from a more traditional adventure game. The free to play structure also brings in a large amount of cosmetic collecting and seasonal content, with optional purchases built into the experience. I like having lots of ways to customise my character, but sometimes it feels like the game wants me to keep returning for the routine rather than giving me a strong reason to keep exploring. I also think Sky works much better when I am willing to slow down. If I am expecting a game where something exciting is happening every few minutes, I can easily get bored because there are long stretches where I am simply travelling, flying and looking around. That is not really a flaw in the same way it would be in an action game because Sky is clearly designed around relaxation and discovery. I just have to be in the right mood for it. I also appreciate that the game is free to play and supports cross platform multiplayer, although the PC version has been in Early Access and the developers have continued working on features and improvements. Overall, Sky: Children of the Light is a beautiful and unusually peaceful game that I think succeeds because it is comfortable doing things differently. I really like the flying, the world design, the music and the simple way the game lets me connect with people without forcing traditional multiplayer interactions. The repetitive collecting, slower progression and free to play systems stop it from reaching the very highest ratings for me, but there is still something special about simply flying through these worlds and discovering what is hidden around the next corner. It is not a game I would want to rush through. For me, it works best when I treat it as a relaxing adventure that I can return to whenever I want something quieter. Rating: 8.3/10
gayet güzel sarıyo ama arkadaş ekleme özelliği zor baya bi onun dışında hikayesi akışı çoğu oyuna basar gibi
been playing on my phone for years too. Still such a wonderful game to experience, BUT they need to make the daily limit of boost on candles A LOT more since it's becoming too grind focused for what is supposed to be a cozy game.
best game ever!
休閑遊戲,適合隨便玩。 更新很快,畫面不錯,有新鮮感,不過有點肝,漂亮的東西也有點貴。 多人遊戲,一個人基本上很無聊。 不過像我有點收集慾就還好。
I saw all the positive reviews so gave it a shot. I was hoping there would be some type of gameplay, and there might be, but I don't feel like having to watch a bunch of cutscenes to try and get there. I wonder if the developers actually wanted to make a movie but ended up with this instead. There didn't seem to be an option to skip the cutscenes either
