The scares are good but a bit generic. The game throws you right into the deep end and you mostly have to figure it out for yourself. There's no clear progression path either so you are mostly guessing where you are going. The father's AI is also somewhat poor and can make it nigh-impossible to keep moving and sometimes you'll end up running back to one area and unable to move forward. And then on the inverse side, he'll sometimes just stop in the middle of chasing you and get stuck. It's somehow at both extremes at the same time. Not sure if there is a manual save option, but if there was, it wasn't very clearly highlighted, but you can imagine my disappointment when I booted the game up a second time and found all my progress had been lost. Again, if the game is manual saving, that fact needs to be pointed out more clearly. And also on that topic, the default sensitivity is WAY too high and a faff to change. You can bring it down, yes, but it automatically resets when you enter the actual game and again when you close it down and open it up again. It's a shame because I really liked the VHS format. The creepy, ominous atmosphere was great, but really ruined by the awful gameplay mechanics and lack of autosaving. If I've missed something then I will happily come back and edit this review, but as it stands, I simply cannot carry on with this demo if my progress ends up being for nothing.
Funny , stressfull - graphics could be improved a little as its looks like antique
i was a bit scared during it
idk what to say not play much
Great indie horror game, recommended!
its dope, not for me as im finding out this kind of game loop doesnt hit me right, but thats no indication of it being bad at all. i think if youre into the indie horror puzzle box house style games with a persistent killer hunting you, you'll super dig this. the aesthetic and atmosphere are great.
