Simultree

A very charming game, around 3 hours long, worth your money if you enjoy incremental games. The visuals are cute and enjoyable to look at. Near the end, the pace slows down a bit and it gets quite grindy. Once you surpass that wall, the game is over really fast. The endless mode is a nice addition if you are interested in playing more, but I find it, once you've finished, to be more of a victory lap than a reason to stick around. Perhaps more achievements would be nice to have, just to give the endless mode a reason to be played. Overall, I recommend it.

I had a good time with this little gem! There were some experiments that made me have to genuinely think about how to succeed and mess around with the simulation settings. Eventually there does seem to be an optimal way to play, but by that point the game is nearly over and it feels like a power trip, and the insanity of the last gene is a sight to behold. The writing/translation can be a little awkward at times, and there was a moment or two where i was frustrated at slow progress, but it wasn't a problem at the end of the day. The only really unfortunate thing is how the game can start to chug near the end with how many "entities" (not just the creatures) exist and take up your GPU, but again you're nearly done at that point. My only wish is that there were more moments/experiments where I had to figure things out rather than just keep pushing through the tree, and times/ways where I could optimize settings, but for the size of the game I can't truly complain. I say to give it a go if you're on the fence! Its personality sealed the deal for me <3
