THE ART IS SO CUTE!!
l just have to say that the art 100% makes this game worth it. Overall, this game is cute, and I do recommend it. Of course, it won't be to everyone's tastes. On top of that, it definitely has it's own set of pros and cons in my own opinion. First off, when I got this game when it first came out it was quite frustrating to say the least. The game itself was a bit complicated (to me, not sure about others, and there was no guide back then).
In the end, I played the game blindly, picking choices/activities I thought would would get me the RO route I wanted to try out first. But after a couple rounds, I had still ended up with the same Base Original RO personality and eventually just gave up. I had always meant to go back and re-play it, but over time with school and work, I actually forgot about it. Now, here I am 3yrs later after it's release?
Not sure, well it's been a long time, and I always wanted to give this game a fair shot at a replay even though I didn't quite like it right off the bat. So here I am. I played it entirely. It was okay, good in some parts, bad in others. But over-all, I liked the story enough, and the RO art is soooo cute and soooo gorgeous that even if I didn't like any of the story at all, the art still 100% makes me want to play it. Down below will be a list of (in my opinion) what I think might be some pros and cons to the game, take them as you will.
PROS:
-Not a super short game, but not long either. In my opinion tho I do consider this a short play-through in comparison to other games I play. My play time was around 12hrs, I consider that a pro considering most VN games I play end up being 50hr play-throughs. And most short VN games I play fall around 6hrs or less. So only 12hrs? Love it.
-Beautiful in-game art. This includes the regular CGs, BGs, NSFW CGs, sprites, animations etc. Love it all.
-Cute in-game phone call scenes, it would be cool if the MC could be offered choices to respond to their RO during those moments. But, never the less, it's still cute and fun to see.
-Not sure about all sex scenes, or from the female pronoun perspective in-game (I played the male pronoun perspective) but from what I can tell, you mostly get to choose to top or bottom as the MC. And that's a really nice option to have, something that didn't exist when it first came out, and I love that they added that to the game.
-Stat raising personality mechanics (I will say, I don't really like it, but I see where it can or could have been improved and it's a nice idea and would be even better if it was further improved)
CONS:
-Misspelled sentences, enough to become a distraction at times for me personally
-Wording? I don't know if the writer is native to English speaking, but it feels like certain scenarios are off? Like not just grammar or spelling being off, but the way the sentences are worded/arranged and what words are chosen.
-Transitions. They are sometimes incorrect/or miss-placed. EX: Your MC gets picked up by their RO, personally carried out of bed, they say something and then the scene transitions back to the MC saying they'll get up out of bed, even though they should by all accounts already have been taken out of the bed. This makes the scene a bit confusing and at times hard to follow.
-Stat Raising personality mechanic (I put this as both a pro and con, because it kinda falls in the middle and to each their own on it) I personally feel like this both limits the MC and ROs interactions quite a bit, and also makes their in-game events feel even more random vs incorporated to the story well enough. I could probably go on ranting about this forever in what could make this part of the game more fun, or better compiled with the story, but I won't. That would take too long.
-Coding/audio/other technical issues. I'll list a few, because it would also take to long to cover everything. But some things I did come across are:
*Glitches in Full-screen mode. For some reason I can't play the game without it glitching. It only seems to work in window mode. First off, I have no computer virus, my computer is not old, and it runs other games well, but just not this one for some reason.
*The sound track is nice, but at times there's very noticeable looping and that can be grating on one's ears. Think this- You're hearing three words into a catchy song, but then all of sudden it makes a noise and the song starts over. And you only ever get to hear those three words from that song on repeat. Over, and over, and over. Yeah...that's what this is like, and I 100% disliked when the sound track in this game would loop badly like this. I don't know if this is noticeable to everyone, or if it was just me. But this was definitely frustrating.
*The partial VA kinda sounds like you're hearing a voice in a tunnel sometimes? Idk how to explain it, but think about when you talk on a phone through your car, connected via Bluetooth. Everyone on the receiving end of your voice, usually will say it sounds like your voice is a bit muffled, drowned out, in a tunnel, etc... That's sort of how the partial VA pops up. It also pops up pretty randomly and sometimes it glitches and repeats words or sentences that aren't supposed to be said in the next scene/moment.
Over all the game is good, things like story, writing, coding, audio and implementing these altogether could be better, but I still really enjoyed the game regardless, and loved the varying RO personalities (except for maybe the bad boy one). I also do dislike sometimes how the MC interacts with said RO personalities. Still, I liked the game regardless. Plus the art. Holy Hell! The art , the art is just SOOOO freaking good in my opinion!!
