Sick is a mixture of intense thriller and exploration of a small surrounding world. A first-person game with a frightening atmosphere. Once in Hell, you play as Jack Willis, who roams an endless loop of suffering, pain and fear.
Game ran just fine; no performance issues whatsoever. I like the story idea, changing enviroments, the ambience, and the few jump scares I encountered. A big part of the game seems to be looking for keys which can at times become a bit monotonous. Perhaps, some puzzles can be added in order to obtain the keys rather than just randomly searching for every one. The developer has also been consistent with updates and bugfixes which is always a plus. The dev is obviously also very passionate about creating a horror experience that players will really enjoy. I think the game has a really good foundation and has the potential to be very good. I did enjoy this demo but, in it's current state I cannot recommend purchasing it if you are looking for a nearly completed game. However, If you just want to support the developer during early access, then I would go ahead and buy the game. Once more content is added to the game, I'll go back, re-evaluate and update my review. Note: I have not played since the recent updates. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fz9ebwhUCfg
***** UPDATE ON JULY 24, 2022 ***** THIS GAME IS NOTHING BUT AN ASSET FLIP, THIS DEVELOPER DOESN"T KNOW HOW TO MAKE A GAME, BUT SIMPLY DOWNLOADED THE FINISHED GAME OFF OF A UDEMY HORROR GAME COURSE AND BROKE THE F OUT OF IT, THEN UPLOADED THAT BROKEN AF PROJECT HE DOWNLOADED AND IS SELLING IT HERE! https://www.udemy.com/course/make-a-horror-survival-game-in-unity/ This "dev" almost certainly didn't actually do the Udemy course this game came from and learn anything, or he wouldn't have broken it so bad, and instead maybe could have made it better or his own. THIS IS JUST STOLEN WORK THIS "DEV" *cough* BROKE AND UPLOADED HERE AND CHARGING MONEY FOR. ...AVOID AT ALL COSTS! ...Furthermore, the fact this developer hasn't updated this broken asset project file since the day after he launched it shows us how much he "cares" about his work he stole from a Udemy course. He doesn't care about making a "good game" but is just interested in make a quick easy dollar. ***** UPDATE ON MAY 2, 2022 TO DEV'S RESPONSE ***** This developer responded to my criticism in about the worst imaginable way. I discuss it all and warn indie developers against responding to criticism of this fashion in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sZAUblvEN6Q ***** ORIGINAL REVIEW (MAY 1st, 2022) ***** This game should have been called "Frustration" instead because that's exactly the experience I had with it after plying it for about 20 minutes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nFWO8OugEJM This game is heavily reliant on Unity assets and jump scares, which is fine as long as the developer puts in enough effort to ensure that his players don't get hopelessly trapped inside of his said assets. NOT RECOMMENDED. ..You can get frustrated as hell without spending $10 USD on this game, just sayin'.
I hate reviews because everyone have their own opinion and it can change overtime So I will still buy a bad review game if I know it is clearly not a cashgrab scam I can understand why the negative reviews, glitches, voice overs, mouselook is slow, game mechanics etc, the intro music on the other hand, is amazing but hey Michael, don't let that hold you back. Being able to publish it on steam is already a huge achievement, I wish I can make a game man.

well lets start its not a bad game i did quite enjoy it, i did finish it but what idid not really like towards the end was you keep doing the same thing over and over i would like to see more monsters in the game and maybe go in to the basement and maybe look around the top floor room.
The game itself seems like it could be fun, I like the environment, but it's painful to play like the controls need to be fixed up. It doesn't run smoothly.
Sick is a psychological horror walking simulator built on the idea of repetition, much like we have seen since the incarnation of PT and the many who are seeking to replicate the same feeling, but in their own unique way. In Sick, you are constantly looking for keys (Sometimes, levers are involved) to open a door into the house or a door on the second floor. Once you reach the second floor and attempt to enter the room you spawn back to a familiar but now rearranged setting from outside the house. Again I have to look for keys and attempt to get further into the room. The graphics were good, not the most refined looking assets but very sturdy and noble. Some of the keys can be hard to find or the fact that there are levers in the mix too. I think this whole thing could be greatly expanded upon, and I am confident that the game will grow and evolve as time goes. There's little things like clipping items here and there or the edge of the barren map being visible, those things take you out of it a little. Those are small but significant details for someone looking to be immersed. The game had a couple jump scares, but low hanging fruit when it comes to the horror genre. The level design is distinctly different and is laid out and set up very naturally and with the ever changing nature of the game, I can imagine this would be tedious and difficult to do so many times. The game is in Early Access so I imagine much will change before 1.0. I am hopeful for this game because I think it has a lot of strong and unique ideas at hand. I don't necessarily feel it's worth $8 in its current state but it is something worth investing in and watching it change and evolve as development trudges on.. There is a lot of polishing and building upon the current state that needs to happen but I feel like it is trending towards something good, maybe even great! I've already seen discussion of a supportive dev so I am hopeful and looking forward to the future of Sick. So I played the game I kinda hit a wall at one point because you have to find a key for the door but the game was to dark at this point and couldn't see anything around me so I had to end the game there however the atmosphere and the way the game runs is very good not really a story that you can get stuck into. You can check out my gameplay in the link below and make your own opinion of the game. https://youtu.be/ihanutUKRc4 Update: I tried to play the game again the lighting update helped me find some of the keys however after finding the level in the fireplace I cannot find the key to the upstairs room anywhere I looked for about 20 minutes the keys are just to well hidden.
It was amazing to voice in this game and shout out to the man who made this amazing work dude. Scary games are amazing and I can't wait to continue playing this
