What starts out as a simple looking, minimalist 60 lives for 60 lives, soon becomes some rather tense indeed. With a slow building tune, that wouldn't be out of place in a John Carpenter Sci-Fi classic, you find yourself losing the plot after believing that you'd mastered the game early on and then along comes level 20 and wipes out most of your lives. Shtrek certainly gives you that feeling of accomplishment, with it's numerous achievements littered throughout and you truly feel like you've earned them as you progress, further into the game. There's nothing overly flashy, there's no massive drain with frantic effects. Shtrek keeps it simple. You play, you learn or you'll fail. Then you'll play again.
A delightful throwback to my childhood games, pure test of skill, perfect for speedrunners or anyone who loves a focused challenge. Addictive as hell—platforming junkies, this one’s your next obsession!
