the start is far too hard with absolutely no direction, and once you've ground your way out of obscurity the game is far too simplistic, the AI for every enemy is simple and easily cheesable. ... that said the aesthetic's alright, i guess, but its just bloodborne 'wooo you're going insaaane~'
(WIP) Balanced completely differently than the paid version since it is based on an older release, I have yet to finish either, but based on what I have played the balancing in this one is more preferable (First enemy in this version of the game is pretty easy to dodge, but will deal heavy damage if she lands a hit, does way less damage in paid version) and the game isnt filled with glowing diamonds pointing out every single interactable, instead its small grey circles which dont stick like a sore thumb, but still do their job.

A lot of things are just made very awkward: controls where I can't flip through the answer choices to avoid damaging a character (myself); not having enough healing when enemies will deal damage often enough; completely resetting the world if I die; it's just very difficult to navigate locations. If this version is supposed to generate interest in the full game, it barely does that. It's good that it's at least not annoying, but if the whole game is going to be like this, it's not interesting.
this was a decently solid indie that i was told to pickup by a mutual. it turns out it's actually not that bad of a game at all, especially for it being so short and free. the combat is fast, and it reminds me a lot of morbid: the seven acolytes if you are reading this and have played that. it's a pretty focused/linear game and there's a good amount of npc's to talk to. this is the free version of the game that does not come with ng+ or some of the other features that the $10 option has in case you were wondering. i wanted to just do 1 playthrough of it to see how i'd like it and overall it's a decent pickup and you can binge it in one sitting. solid work devs.
Good game. Frustrating as all getout, but it's a souls-like.
good
