It's super early access and the art is really ugly. But the mechanics are fun. Everything takes way too long. Literally the only reason they added first person was to make the trailers look cooler, you are only allowed to walk forward, so pressing W could be replaced with a "next" button. In fact I hate it because it requires me to use a keyboard instead of only the mouse.

This game is a little hidden gem. I played the demo a while back and was immediately hooked: couldn't wait for the game to release. The game looks gorgeous with its hand-drawn backgrounds and characters: the art style is very strong and creates a fantastic atmosphere. Some of the enemies, especially small grey caps in early game, are super cute, and I sometimes feel bad for hurting / eating them :) But the game is also very fun to play. At its core, it is a deck builder. The gameplay loop is split into exploration and fight phases, with separate decks for each phase. Exploration allows you to heal, improve your cards, or add new ones to your deck. Exploring for too long brings on the gloom, which damages your health pool, which means making tough choices in balancing your health versus improving the success chances of your current run. The combat is clever, with a nice variety of enemies that have different abilities. Choosing the right targets and making use of synergies is key to success. Shroom and Gloom is, for me, a contender for Indie GOTY.

It is a fun and interesting card game where theyll let you stack the same card with as many effects as you can. The only issue I have is when you play multiple runs the animations could be sped up a few times
