Bad asset flip game that brings nothing new or interesting to the table. It's really bad.
i bought this mainly because there are very few sims that have controller support. Make no mistake, while it does say that you can play with controller, it definitely doesn't have a controller user in mind. The right toggle stick is repurposed as your cursor. There is no use of the D pad, and you barely use any of the other buttons on a standard controller. The gameplay itself lacks any creativity or and is uninspired. The days last too long and there is nothing particularly engaging about any of the mechanics. Placing shelves is restricted to two rotations, so you can't use some of the shelves on all the walls because you're limited to 180 degree options. 98% of your engagement is with the right toggle and trigger buttons. At best, it's a shell of better games that came before it.
My Supermarket Simulator save tanked several months ago and I’ve been looking for a replacement until I can get a new pc and this game will work for now. Controls are easy to figure out. Touch screen is used the majority of the time. The cursor is large and the numbers large and easy to see which makes my eyes happy Runs great on the steam deck seamlessly with zero lag However there is no store customization or light switches in the store so you can’t control the lights But you can do store expansions , store licenses and take out loans so if you like supermarket games this is a must try
Sadly there a few things that just miss in this game. I played so many simulator games and quite a few supermarket simulator games. You can't take any item back from the shelve, so an oops placement ! Wait for it to be sold. Want to change around the shop.. sell everything first. When you work at the cash register you cannot look around what makes it kind of boring, then when you make a mistake in the payment you have to reset the payment and do it again. Instead of just grabbing an bill back. With that people will pay you with 100 bucks for just an 0.81 cent item. When you add an item to a shelve it puts it at the wholesale price not market price. Before I could even change the price a customer bought all but one ! So that didn't bring any money in and was a shame. And just some minor things like you have to litterally throw the empty box at the trashcan instead of just be able to click on it. You have to click for every item to be placed on the shelve not just hold the button to place them all or something. I hoped so much for this game. The items looks like fun, but the game play just hightly annoyed me sadly.
The game is very lacking compared to its other competitors. It was made to catch the trend, they even put the same assets of other games. The menus on the screen are so big, you would think it was made for people over 55 or for tablet PCs. I bought this game as a content creator via keymail, but it is not a good game, it is a bad imitation. I wish they had tried different things.
Tell me why I bought this game? This game is literally my job IRL. I've come home to do the exact job I just did, for an extra 2hours, except I'm not getting paid. It's pretty good though. It's simple, It is slightly boring however. It's a simple game that can kill a few hours. After the first few hours though it is just rinse and repeat. Serve the customers. Stock the shelves. Repeat. You serve the same 10 or so character models so that definitely needs to change. I'd like to have a better placement system. I've come across a few bugs too. There's a few other things that they could change but for a game that has just come out, it has potential to be way better. So far though, I like it.
Played for 2 hours. While it delivers a basic store management loop, Shopkeeper ultimately feels like a missed opportunity, lacking the depth and polish to truly shine. The Core Loop: Keeping the Shelves Stocked Your daily grind involves ordering stock, setting prices, restocking shelves, and serving customers. It's initially engaging – there's always something to do, keeping you busy. The optimization is decent, a definite plus compared to some similar titles. Unlocking new items and expanding the store provides a sense of progression. Where It Stumbles: Repetition & Lack of Management The core issue is repetition without depth. Despite hiring a cashier, you're still constantly running around restocking as the product range grows. It feels like an arcade stocking chore, not genuine store management. Where's the staff for shelving? The promised "supermarket" feels superficial. Physics bugs (flying boxes, getting stuck) add unnecessary frustration. The graphics and sound are functional but dated. The Verdict: Wait For A Sale While it might scratch a very specific itch for undemanding sim fans, the lack of originality (feeling like a clone), repetitive arcade-like chores, absence of real management mechanics, and technical quirks make it hard to recommend at full price. You can easily sink hours in, but the question is, will you want to? Based on my time, probably not for long. Neutral is the fairest rating.
No, just horrible. I am fine with playing the left overs of these Shop Keeping games, I can accept most forms of jank, but this is just bad. Controls are bad, no QOL elements to make the game enjoyable. This is not worth playing even with low standards.
