story and charcater are extrealy likeable, i enjov the story so much i gasligted myself to think the whole game was voice acted because i got either so immersed or enjov the whole game that much i made myself belive it was that peak
Aki most SOVL route Mariya close second thoughbeit
Хорошая новелла, в которой понравились рауты, от которых меньше всего ожидал этого.
Shining Song Starnova is a character-driven visual novel that explores the idol industry from a perspective that is far more emotionally charged and conflicted than its bright exterior initially suggests. Developed by Love in Space and published by Sekai Project, the game places the player in the role of a producer tasked with guiding a group of aspiring idols through the competitive, often unforgiving world of entertainment. Rather than focusing solely on spectacle or idealized success, the story consistently emphasizes the tension between ambition, vulnerability, and the personal cost of chasing stardom, setting it apart from lighter idol-themed narratives. The structure of the game revolves around seven heroines, each with her own route, personality, and internal struggles. While all of them share the same overarching dream of becoming successful idols, their motivations, fears, and emotional baggage differ significantly. As the producer, your decisions influence not only romantic or interpersonal outcomes but also professional trajectories within the group. Choices determine who becomes the center of attention, how conflicts are resolved, and whether characters are supported in healthy ways or pushed toward damaging compromises. This branching structure encourages multiple playthroughs, as each route reveals new facets of the story and reframes earlier events from different emotional angles. What makes Shining Song Starnova particularly engaging is its willingness to depict the idol industry as a space filled with contradictions. Moments of triumph, connection, and genuine joy are frequently offset by anxiety, jealousy, and pressure from both fans and management. The narrative often lingers on the psychological strain placed on young performers, highlighting how public image and private identity can clash in uncomfortable ways. Some routes lean heavily into emotional drama, presenting scenarios where characters are forced to confront their own limits, while others explore quieter forms of self-realization and growth. This tonal variety gives the game a sense of depth that extends beyond surface-level wish fulfillment. The visual presentation plays a major role in conveying these themes. Character artwork is vibrant and expressive, capturing both the polished idol personas and the more fragile moments behind the scenes. CGs are used effectively to emphasize key emotional beats, whether celebratory or intimate, and help differentiate each route’s emotional arc. Partial voice acting in Japanese adds personality and nuance to character interactions, reinforcing their individuality even when the script leans into melodrama. The original soundtrack complements the experience well, shifting between energetic idol-style tracks and softer, more reflective compositions that underline the story’s emotional shifts. Mature content is an integral part of Shining Song Starnova’s identity and narrative direction. Rather than existing purely for shock value, these elements are tied to themes of exploitation, desire, and emotional dependency within the idol system. How well this integration works will largely depend on the player’s tolerance for such material. Some will appreciate how it reinforces the story’s darker undercurrents and sense of realism, while others may feel it complicates or undermines character agency. Regardless, the game does not shy away from these topics, making it clear that it aims to provoke discussion rather than offer a sanitized depiction of its setting. The writing itself is ambitious, though not without uneven moments. Dialogue can sometimes feel overly dramatic or repetitive, particularly in routes that dwell heavily on internal monologues and emotional spirals. However, when the writing is at its strongest, it delivers impactful scenes that linger long after they conclude. The best routes manage to balance emotional intensity with introspection, allowing characters to feel flawed yet human, rather than simply archetypal idols defined by singular traits. Replayability is one of the game’s strongest assets. With multiple endings for each heroine and meaningful divergence based on player choices, Shining Song Starnova rewards commitment and curiosity. Seeing every route provides a more complete picture of the group dynamic and the systemic pressures at play, transforming the experience from a series of isolated stories into a broader commentary on ambition and identity. Ultimately, Shining Song Starnova is a visual novel that thrives on emotional intensity and character focus. It is not a gentle or purely uplifting idol story, but rather a dramatic exploration of dreams pursued at great personal cost. Players looking for a nuanced, sometimes uncomfortable look at fame, relationships, and self-worth will find a surprisingly layered experience here, while those seeking a lighthearted or idealized portrayal of idol life may find its tone challenging. For its intended audience, however, Shining Song Starnova stands as a memorable and emotionally resonant entry in the genre. Rating: 9/10
