I think it goes without saying, that Sharknado VR: Eye of the Storm is a killer app. Without question, with start of a revolution for the entire video game industry. Truly, a masterclass in story telling and character development. A true work of Art, that will not doubt set records and expectations moving forward. It brings a tear to my eye, at the mere sight of the title. Those involved with the project will likely move on to create some of the greatest games of our generation, and be heavily commended for their work on such a masterful experience. 6.9/10.
pretty cool
Experienced on the Meta Quest 2
This is a 360 wave shooter, where you can move freely inside a small square area. I think the negative reviews are exaggerated, but this still isn't good enough for me to recommend, even at the $3 USD price. It's just not polished enough. There's enough issues that I can't recommend this wave shooter. However, it's not awful. There are some good ideas here. They're just not well-implemented. Quite frankly, if you're okay with jank & some technical issues, this can be a fun little game. You have different weapons & upgrades to unlock. Sharks & squids, & other dangerous objects slam down on you and you have to move out of the way or shoot them down. You can even jump out of the way. It's mindless arcade shooter action. The main problem is the hit detection. I swear I would hit targets and get no credit for it. Also, the weapons are unbalanced as heck. Once you get the unlimited ammo rifle, there's no reason to use anything else. Sharks will get stuck in the terrain. Objects will come at you sideways. There's usually a healthpack that spawns when you get low on health & there's usually ammo that spawns when you run out of ammo. The UI is terrible. The graphics are muddy & washed. Look, the game is based on a B movie that's bad. The game takes after the movie. It's really the perfect marriage. I'll admit though, I didn't totally regret the hour I spent playing this. I still can't recommend it though. Too many issues. Rate 4.5/10. I really did come close to recommending this. It's not bad, but it's not good either. There's much better wave shooters out there though that you can find on sale for close to $3 USD.
