Sektori

This game is amazing. I was skeptical at first because the game reminds me a lot of Geometry Wars, and I thought that Geometry Wars Evolved was a perfect game already. Well, turns out there are ways to improve on the formula. The movement feels better than in GW. Different ships add a lot of variety to the gameplay, and the upgrade decks make each run feel unique. I spent 50 hours playing this and wasn't bored. It's incredibly addictive.

Incredible twin stick shooter. Very satisfying to learn and overcome the challenges. It's hard! But it feels great to play and is very rewarding overall. 10/10

A shmup masterpiece. If you took Geometry Wars to a warehouse rave and gave it some good chemicals, this game is what you'd get. Very difficult, but very satisfying to master.

This is an addictive arcade style game with surprising depth and several different modes. I've played a lot of arcade games from every era, and while this resembles a few of them on the surface, I haven't seen one that is quite like Sektori. The changing shape of the arena is the main attraction, but it's actually only a fraction of what you need to be paying attention to. Don't be fooled by the "deck builder" mechanic in the game. This isn't another rogue-like. The deck is specific to each run, and it doesn't introduce the kind of RNG to suppress raw skill and artificially inflate your play time.

This game is AMAZING Sektori feels similar to Resogun on PlayStation although much more challenging. I'm yet to end the campaign on experience (easy) mode as at the time of writing this review and I've already sunk 4 hours into it, and each time I play I find myself inching closer to the end. The visuals are amazing The music is dope The game plays buttery smooth AND There's a good variety of modes to keep you entertained for hours WORTH IT!

Sektori is my daily zen meditation. The game is minimalist geometric fireworks and it produces flow state. I think Sektori is absolute perfection in it's genre. Highly recommended!

After about 18 hours of playing Sektori, I have defeated Challenge difficulty in the campaign (according to the achievement I unlocked, only 1.6% of players have done the same). "Challenge" is a bit of an understatement - this is a very difficult campaign... but man this game is awesome. As a huge fan of the Geometry Wars series, Sektori immediately appealed to me. This is one of my favorite bullet hell/twin stick shooters that I've played in years. Now that I've defeated the Challenge difficulty mode, I'm going to move up to the hardest difficulty - Revolution. God help me. The only real flaw in Sektori is the fact that the success of your run is partially up to RNG (a campaign run is like 90% skill, 10% luck). This is because the arena is ever-changing, and sometimes you can't get a powerup because the arena suddenly changes which can definitely hurt a run. Quick tips: use Boss Rush mode to warm up before doing a campaign run and learn the patterns of the bosses. In a campaign run, what worked best for me was leveling up Speed to maximum first, then focusing on leveling up Blaster and Missiles. You should almost never stop moving. Anyway, in conclusion, Sektori is fantastic. If you want a serious challenge and you're a fan of the Geometry Wars series or just bullet hells/twin stick shooters, this game is a must buy. Rating: 9.5 out of 10.
