Pro: Decent visual novel, English Dubbed for once. 5 male leads, 5 True Endings with males. Lesbianism is totally a valid choice in this game, and there are 3 True Endings with females. Chaos End and Bad Angel End. There's even a non-romantic end or two. Con: graphics aren't quite anime-quality. Faces are realistically "average" rather than beautiful. SM:TO1 is kind of short for a visual novel. SM:TO2 is even shorter than that.
While the second game is better than the first, this entire series is surprisingly in-depth for a otome. Small errors are there but able to be overlooked (aside from the dreaded "sm2" bug that plagues the second game). While the SM1 story can be repetitive on the boys' routes, SM2 fixed this and made each one unique. They switched artists at some point between SM1 and the episodes, and it is jarring. If I had one negative thing to say, it would be that I really disliked the fact that they added wives to the second game. It was both implausible that all 4 brothers would marry before you and your incubus, and they didn't really add anything to the plot (they were kickstarter things, except for Carrie). Carrie (Sam's wife) is used once for James's route and that's about it. I felt like I was cheating on them, even if I hadn't. I don't like that feeling. Besides, why would they have their wives drop in to the demon world to save MC? Only Erik's wife (being a demon herself) would really have any reason to. "Let's save MC by putting the other humans in danger!" Um . . . ok. Not to mention the fact that they all came across as just female versions of the boys (except Carrie). I tended to just see the "wives" as MC's new college friends and not married to the boys. Bottom line: Get this. The world-building is engaging, the characters are pretty fleshed out by the second game, and the music (by Christopher Escalante aka "Erik") is amazing! I'm in love with his voice.
I definitely recommend the game if you're a fan of the Seduce Me franchise and Michaela Law's games. You get a lot of extra content for the price. Recent updates also fixed the issues with the achievements and typos.
Look, I admit I can't entirely understand why I disliked playing this so much. I love dating sims and have over 3 hours on here trying to enjoy it but I can't stand the art style, the voice acting wasn't great, and the story feels... bland. I always thought I didn't care if dating sim characters were pure cliche but this has changed my mind. ...I feel mean writing this but steam keeps prompting me to write a review...
This collection is worth it, even if you've played the games before. Having everything together in one place keeps it simple. The one negative I have is that there seems to be an issue with the achievements not working/unlocking (as of the time of this review). This isn't enough to make me regret my purchase, though. Great for first time players or those who want both games and all the extra adventures.
i love this game so much
i have loved this game for forever so i caved and got the collection and i'm so happy
good lord this game is so good
I enjoy that there is a story game with guys winning over the girl and there are more than one story of it. like how there is a lot of save space for the game. I like that there is multiple of the game stories in one bundle. I enjoy that sometimes when a choice is made a icon pops up of what the choice impacts. I do not like how have to decide early on which guy you want to be with.
Love this game so much. I own the first and second game. And played the episodes games, but never did experience the soundtrack. Just so happy to be able to hear the soundtrack and play all the story in just one game. This was something that I really wanted to get and I don't have any regrets. Plus love reading all the stuff that there to read.
