Plot: Its more a propaganda piece, than an unbiased and science based animation about pollution and potential dangers. it has abit of that, but not much: its more about how you should feel, and what you should believe, which imo its a bad approach. Visual aspect: the models look too simple, and become a bit boring to look at after a few minutes, even if they are sparkly. imo, its hardly psychedelic, so from that point of view its also not very good. Gameplay: movement isnt very fluid; feels like a very tuned down rollercoaster, and there are no options to explore: its only about "flying" in a "free camera" mode. Conclusion: since the visuals are too repetitive, and the 3d models arent very animated, this becomes boring very soon. imo, the audio could work better alone as audiobook, for anyone who is ok with the way the message is presented. Probably the best way to experience this "game" is to watch a gameplay video in youtube, using 1.75x or 2x speed playback modifier.

+looks pretty -runs like a powerpoint presentation -some nerd stuff saying "humans gonna die if we dont save the soil" like that's rad, gonna go plow a field to accelerate it playing while high should be interesting
More of an educational and interactive art piece, Secrets of Soil sadly isn't even all that interactive, even though it is a little. It's good as an educational introduction to the ecosystem that lives in the soil, other than the lights. It basically teaches you what lives in the soil and how those things interact with each other, and doesn't really take very long to get through, maybe an hour at the most. Aside from the lack of interactivity, the biggest problem I have with it is that when they mention that there are things that can be done about the soil ecosystem being destroyed, is that when they end it with a link on how to support the soil ecosystem in your back yard, but that is far from an actual solution to the major problem of the earth's dirt ecosystem being destroyed. Sadly, the people who own the most amount of land probably won't do anything to restore it, but this is still a good educational tool to introduce someone to making compost piles as a hobby. Overall, I recommend it as an educational too, but I don't recommend it as a game, since it can't really be considered a game.

This is more of an interactive piece of art and educational presentation than a "game", but I did enjoy it. It was really cool to wander around structures that are microscopic. At times it did feel a little bit unsettling with all the strange shapes and colors and music. I think there's way more to say about the topic of sustainable agriculture, but this is clearly something meant to be an introduction and to make you think and feel about it first, rather than a detailed essay.
Secrets Of Soil Positives: + Nice idea + Interesting and educational + Artistic look + Colourful + Nice music + A lot of different scenes to explore + The voiceover + Its free Negatives: - Some parts are too simplistic - Some repeating stuff - Very politically correct (can get a bit tired of it sometimes) - Needs a good pc to run it smoothly - Lasts only for about half an hour If you wonder what happens underneath your feet or what impact the way we live does to it, play this. If you want a relaxing and artistic experience with a lot of colours and life, play this. If you got half an hour to spare, and nothing else to do, play this. So what are you waiting for? Total Score: 7/10
