Seaberry Keep

A surprisingly sinister experience with sentient sorbet, ghastly ghosts and a very wicked witch. You are tasked with the challenge of saving your one and only friend Chippy from the horrible fate of expiring deep in a hole while lying helplessly on his back. You must find a way to save him and in your efforts you will be forced to enter and search through the halls of the possibly life-ending Seaberry Keep. Do not let the decor deceive you for this is an endeavor that will test every fiber of your very being. May the tides ever be in your favor and the grasses always greener in your pastures as you plunge head first into hot pink Hell.

I was gifted this game to check out on stream. Seaberry Keep is a cute visual novel with Point-and-Click exploration and several minigames (like a very easy hidden object games and room decoration/dress-up minigames). The game is almost completely voice acted, so very little reading is needed for the game, except for a couple dialogue choices. Seaberry Keep is very clearly targeted at young children, and I could see young kids having a fair bit of fun with the characters and minigames. The game ranges from about 20 minutes in length to over an hour (if you mess around in the rooms and minigames). I'm sure young kids could play longer if they enjoy the decoration minigames. If you're an adult, this game is probably not for you, unless you want to enjoy it ironically. This game was a blast to stream to an audience as there was a lot of material to joke about, but there aren't really any jokes in the game dialogue itself. So in summary, I recommend this game for kids, but not for most adults. Also worth noting, I presume this game was made by a young developer, as the playtester is listed as their mom. Always inspiring to see young people passionately making games and am definitely eager to see them develop more in the future! Thanks for the game key!

This game is soo cute and fun. I hope that Chippy can be saved.

Adorable 20-minute visual novel. It's fully voiced and the voice acting is very cute (better than I was expecting), there's even singing! I liked the rooms where I could move the pngs around and decorate the characters or the room. This would be a cute game to play with a younger child, since they can listen to the lines & practice reading, but probably not worth it as someone older unless you're really into the cutesy, child-like aesthetics. I enjoyed it though :)

100/100 wholesome game. Now I want more silly hats.

There are a lot of games with cute aesthetics, but this one is cute in it's design and conception. It's amateurish and simple in basically every way but that's where the charm comes from. Like, every character is voiced by the developer and the only credited playtester is the developer's mom. There are parts where the intended experience is for you to use your imagination and play pretend with the toys provided to you. It makes for a very unique, very grounding experience overall and I recommend it to the young and the young at heart.
