Modeled estimate, not a reported figure. How we estimate →
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 14: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Good luck getting it to work on linux or a steam deck
I was gonna write a whole spiel about how this is a really shallow game designed to optimize the most theoretical playtime via grinding and "progression" in a way that would make Ubisoft envious, but the truth of the matter is that's why people play it. Those people are wrong. Their idea of fun is wrong. And all of my group's hours (across however many platforms and services we tried it, probably like 350) in this game was for the sole satisfaction of knocking down their sandcastle as they built it. We would sail around and sink sloops laden with loot for no other reason than to rob them of hours of mindless drudgery. We'd pretend to be friendly just to see if someone bought it then blast them to oblivion. We'd stay hidden on an outpost to wait for somebody to stop by before logging off, then shanghai them, sink their sloop, and sell all their loot not because we planned on doing anything with it, but because it meant they lost everything. They would cry and bemoan not having anything, and still we would hound them to the ends of the map to sink them. They would say they just wanted to do Tall Tales, and still we would pursue them again and again to deprive them of progress. Once, a particularly unlucky soul had arrayed some 80% of his loot on the shore as if safe to do so, flaunting his wealth in the slums of Chicago, as it were. Before he had finished unloading he was sunk, and on each return trip he watched bit by bit as his progress was undone. The game allowed him to respawn and try and save his efforts, only to die and see a bit more gone to us. Try after try he sailed back to crash into the island, desperately clawing at us only to get a birds-eye view as his pirate soul left his body of how little we hadn't sold. It very well could have never put him up with the vain hope of grasping that loot back, but it didn't. It wanted him to see and feel each and every thing we did. He got notifications of his loot being "donated". And none of that ever was for our own gain. We did not put a single dime of it towards a super expensive cosmetic we would use. It is still out there as some digits in a file on Rare's servers. Understand now that we were not the psychopaths to be blamed: the game is the true sadist. It let people like us clock out and exact imagined revenge. It let that poor man suffer. It created the illusion of a happy little goofy pirate game and then let us hide behind the curtains. Never did Rare take any action against us, our piratical escapades of terror only stopped because one of us was banned for calling a victim a "LIL' ♥♥♥♥♥" in a thick accent via megaphone. Why does somebody steal something like a keychain, or a cup from the gas station? Those things cost so little, and the thief does not even need them. Why did Huns and other barbarians sack cities down to ashes, even when there was value in what was destroyed and not looted? Why do crimes of opportunity, like a petty thief stealing someone's driver's license without any idea of how to use it for nefarious purposes? Often we see people enduring such tragedies attribute it to divine retribution, e.g. Scourge of God or the loss of the Mandate of Heaven. Sociologists study and publish long volumes of theories and papers to examine what drives malignance. Rare shows us that the truth is cause it's fun lol, but I still thumbs the game down cause the actual game sucks
