A small game made by a true Dark Souls fan, although calling it "souls-like" is... a stretch at best, sure in terms of mechanics there is dodging, parries, stamina management and a big monster wants to sit on you (if you know, you know), but there's something missing, a certain atmosphere that's hard to describe, maybe I just haven't played enough, but from what I know of this game, it's more of a survival horror, it's not a horrible game and I see potential, and for that I recommend this fan project.
В такой простой игре и баги... По играть можно но очень темно а настроек нормальных нет. https://youtu.be/TIJ4iXEWaD0

That moment when a developer hears the word “soulslike” but has no idea what it means and still tags their game as one. In reality, it’s just a dull 2D mess—and on top of that, it’s about SCP.
Honestly its pure trash, it doesnt matter if you're skilled or not because any fight with any entity just feels like pokemon go, basically every single fight is a stat check and i feel like im in resident evil the way i be having to pop heals, there is a parry system but you cant really use it unless the entities have eyes for some reason (spoiler alert they dont)
There's a very clear understanding of what makes a Souls-like good and what makes SCP interesting ( the use of 166 is so good) here and I'm all for it, it's not a combination I ever thought I'd see or want, but I enjoyed it a lot. I went through and got everything I could in the demo and I definitely wanted to see more, the art is cool and works well for the vibe, I especially enjoyed the opening cinematic and setting flourishes. I'll be coming back to play more once the full game is out for sure.
This game has a lot of potential for the future and I think the current state is quite good. I could easily make a list of what I liked and, while I don't want to be too picky, there were some parts of the game that I wasn't a huge fan of. 1. The art is quite good overall, yay! But! Some things like cones and boxes have borders that can trap you easily or get in your way while dashing. Also, it took me a second to realize the main enemies were 610, they were really dark so I didn't process that they were supposed to be fleshy. Still, when I realized their identity I got used to it. I'm no artist but the dark models could've played a part in me not recognizing them. 2. Sounds were nothing to complain about and the boss music was good. 3. The stat system and inventory ui was pretty easy to understand. It's a shame though that stats are pretty grindy and static in how you interact with them. Basically, the only two times I interacted with the stat system were when I was upgrading it with 166 (great addition btw, probably the best scp in the game) and the very beginning of the game when I was choosing my character (another nice addition and could be advanced later too with different weapons). Some additional mini-upgrades to it like clearing big rooms would've made it cooler and made me actually care about it in more areas of the game. 4. The lore, while present, is either nonexistent or easy to gloss over. Having the foundation be ruined is a cool concept but I literally forgot the whole premise until 166 reminded me when I got outside. Ambiance is probably one of the biggest things the game would benefit from. Right now it feels like any old abandoned facility that some flesh and other monsters breached out of. Of course though, any improvements to the lore in future updates would be awesome and even the short snippets given in game are already pretty good (the boss being a- I won't spoil it, but it was cool to notice for me when I read the computer monitors, also, add more lore to monitors instead of redacted! Even if it's small or silly). I especially liked the 610 article on the computer as it made me remember how disturbing 610 is supposed to be while the 049 and 173 references seemed kinda irrelevant. 5. The game had some great scp additions. I especially liked 166, 2300, and even the 035 reference near the end (I know 035 and 2300 are cosmetic but, even without special elements, they are nice little additions that made me smile). I already talked about my thoughts on 610 earlier but they are still fairly designed enough for the harder gameplay. I even respect the semi-hidden ghost things you can find in game as they were mildly spooky I guess (not to mention the emotes...). My only sour spots would be 966 and the random 173 encounter I got. I like the effort to add more variety, but 966 just felt random and 173 might as well not have been there. If you were to give them, like, broken containment cells for both of them for explaining their presence better then I may be have been able to overlook this but that's not the case and, honestly, they could've easily been replaced by 610 versions or have just not been present altogether. I also don't know if I missed 049 but his article really broke some of the mood for me. Aside from a few 966 fights that could arguably justify their presence, all I think the 173, 049, and 966 additions did was take away from 610. No disrespect to the creator, they aren't going to ruin the game, I just saw it in bad taste is all. Additionally, a lot of the items go unexplained. I found it funny that I kept finding literal void fragments and mind crystals just lying around with 0 context but just a little bit of background for them (and the pendant thingies especially) would go a long way. 6. I wanted to put this off but it is something I noticed. I think the combat, overall, is good. Energy management is reasonable, the mind management is interesting if it isn't a little unexplained, and the health is as health as it is in any other game. It's just that I couldn't exactly figure out how to parry and so I resorted my dodging entirely into dashing which, at first, was quite cool and fast. It was so cool that it made me forget sprinting was even an option, especially when its initial setting was the space key instead of the shift key for some reason. This all went down the drain though when I found out how clunky it was to attack with. How the dash works is that you dash in the direction you're facing which seems fine until you realize that the attacks you use lock you in the direction you're using them in while you're attacking. That also seems fine until you try to dodge while you attack where you will then proceed to dash right into the enemy... this means you have to not only time your attack right but also your dash as using it too early will get you hurt and using too late will, obviously, get you hurt. This definitely can get you killed considering how easy it is to die and it makes the combat feel way worse. I don't know how easy that is to fix but I feel like simply aborting the attack when you dash would improve the feel of it as I'd rather avoid damage and miss the attack than hit the attack (assuming my dumb self could attack in the right direction) and get confirmed damage. It also doesn't help that the environment's cones/boxes and subtle attack slows from the 610 enemies makes dashing into enemies even more punishing. Anyways, sorry for such a long review, I was just very happy to see an SCP game that wasn't dog water or low effort slop. Congrats dev(s?), your game deserves acknowledgement. I hope it improves in the future and that you take care in making a cool game.
It's more than it looks. The combat is hard, wasd based. Every time you save, even if you cleared a room of enemies before, they will respawn all around the map. That's intentional because you need the void that enemies give you. [SPOILER] There's so much more to the game than it looks, and likely more for the future. The weapons can be upgraded, but I haven't found myself using the twin fusion shards yet. Those regular fusion shards are important. But it's a good game in progress and i recommend tagging along for the ride.
It's a game that I'm not good at, and don't have the kind of patience required to learn the ins and outs of the combat. Which is a strange thing to say, as the combat isn't complex at all. It's just punishing. Not my jam. Looks good, nice eerie music/ambience, and lots of SCP lore.
