This is obviously a money laundering scheme. Someone gifted this for me when it was originally $0.99 but on sale for $0.79. Don't buy this asset flip. Not even to make a video about it. Go support a different game developer that actually put in some effort.

Late to school. Story: There's no story here, so we're going straight to the graphics. Graphics: I could be wrong, but I'm pretty certain this is basically a mobile game port and visually you can tell almost right away that this is a mobile game. The town you drive around and the buses themselves are all fine from a design standpoint, but the textures and visuals are incredibly bland. The town especially feels like it's the same street you're going down over and over with. I'll cover it a bit more in the gameplay perspective, but it also doesn't help that each level is basically the same route over and over, so you're going to go down the same road each time. Audio: I'll begin by saying that I'm not really fond of the audio design. The bus itself sounds like it's actually a motorbike, it's constantly roaring which is quite hilarious and really stands out. The only vehicle that sounds like a bus is the last unlockable bus which more about that later. The music itself sucks. It's basically a few generic stock free sounding tracks that loop constantly, which very much like the previous game I've reviewed Mountain Taxi Driver, there's a positive here that the game is absurdly short so you won't have to keep listening for it long. Gameplay: Very much like Crazy Taxi, the basic gist of School Bus Driver Simulator is to pick up passengers and get them to their destination as fast as humanly possible. You have a time limit and a star rating which will reward you with a cash reward which allows you to buy a different bus once you earn enough cash. I'll begin by saying that the gameplay is slightly better than I expected, but still very stiff. Steering and stopping feels like you're fighting the bus to pull off these moves, but once you really pick up it's doable. The other busses have better statistics which you can buy, however they feel basically identical. I did a couple test runs and The most optimal route I arrived at the same time with each bus. I also really hate how the star system works. Getting passengers and dropping them off eats up your time, so getting three stars is physically impossible. The timer is constantly ticking down so if you really want to perfect each level you can forget about it. Now about the routes. There's ten levels in total and each is roughly a minute long and what doesn't help is that each level is basically the same route over and over, with just your stop changing each time. I managed to breeze through the entire game in 13 minutes and I unlocked every bus and had over 65K dollars spare, because there's really nothing to spend the money on. Also I couldn't help, but find it hilarious that there's a daily spinner like a mobile game that awards you pointless cash. Verdict: School Bus Driver Simulator is yet another poor spin on the Crazy Taxi formula. It's an absurdly easy and boring game that does not do enough to warrant commitment to it's 10 minute campaign. Also I can't tell if it's a joke by the developer or not, but marking your game over a 100 euros to then apply a 90% discount is just a scum move. Final Rating: 3/10 Pros: + Driving feels fun enough Cons: - 10 levels and they're all basically identical - The audio design sucks, the buses sound like motorbikes etc - Art style is incredibly bland - Developer tomfoolery with the pricing NOTE: I was provided with a key by the developer/publisher for review purposes on the behalf of the group Completing the Backlog, this did not impact my opinion on the game whatsoever. They lack depth and content, because they're just simplistic copies of demos or tutorials. In this case, "School Bus Simulator Driving 2022" is just another driving asset pack (this time with a school bus) from Zoobs Man with little to no merit as a serious game, and doesn't have any merit as a proper, fully fledged PC game, so this copy+paste of it can't be recommended. Asset flips don't involve any professional game development. Sure, sometimes they may change a few cosmetic things, swap out different assets etc, but at heart it's functionally identical to the asset they're ripping off. Asset flips like this are harmful to the gaming industry and to Steam because they reduce the visibility that sincerely made indie games should have, and make it harder for gamers to find real games from genuine developers. Bonus unethical points: The "developer" here has priced this game anywhere up to a whopping $200 USD in some regions. This is not accidental, and while there is no direct proof, the primary reason for any developer to do this for such a trash/fake game is simple. Money laundering through Steam. Like I said, there's no direct proof, but given the "developer" here has such a long list of unethically stolen games and intellectual property infringement going
