Title: (A Scene from the Heart Part 1) A Masterpiece! - Game of the Year 2025 Review: I’ve been following the development of this game for a good amount of time on social media and Twitch, and I was involved in more than just watching. But before I get to that, let me say this: This visual novel is definitely one of the best I’ve played so far. Amazing story, fantastic character introductions, and I still can’t believe it was made by just one person. If you love visual novels, improved theater, and cozy hours, this game is exactly what you need! I had an incredibly enjoyable time playing it and – here’s the point I mentioned – I even got to help with the German translation. So, I can say with full confidence that the developer really cares about the game and its quality. Please show this developer some love, he deserves it more than anyone! Aber bevor ich zu diesem Punkt komme, möchte ich erst einmal sagen: Diese Visual Novel gehört definitiv zu den besten, die ich bisher gespielt habe. Tolle Geschichte, großartige Charaktereinführung, und ich kann immer noch nicht glauben, dass dieses Meisterwerk von nur einer Person erschaffen wurde. Wenn du Visual Novels, verbessertes Theater und gemütliche Stunden liebst, dann ist dieses Spiel genau das Richtige für dich! Ich hatte eine unglaublich gute Zeit beim Spielen und – und hier kommt der Punkt, den ich erwähnen wollte – hatte sogar die Gelegenheit, bei der deutschen Übersetzung mitzuhelfen. Ich kann also mit voller Überzeugung sagen, dass der Entwickler wirklich viel Herzblut in das Spiel steckt und sehr auf Qualität achtet. I played the original pre-release cut, but it was very enjoyable even then. There were a lot of things that made me laugh and I think overall I like most of the cast. The voice-acting for every character that isn't the player was a super nice touch, though I will admit that I'd have liked to see even silhouettes of the people talking that weren't the main cast. The art is very nice, the music's cheery, and both Chisaki and Konaka's VAs brought a lot of life to their characters. I'm looking forward to part 2 at some point; I've heard Zamius has a lot of plans for the next part already. Hope we get to see more of the cast in the future, this one's worth checking out if you like visual novels!

Cute little game made by an up and coming indie dev! Can't wait for part 2

Linear visual novel with voiced but small cast of characters, and a brief runtime that makes it feel too pricey. The game runs on a well-known engine commonly used in many indie visual novels. There’s very little customization, so the main menu and its options look just like any other game built on the same engine. On the upside, it includes all the essential features you want in a visual novel, such as the ability to save at any time and to skip text you’ve already seen. Of course, skipping is only useful on a second playthrough, as using it the first time defeats the purpose of experiencing the story. The story casts you as a game designer who has just won an award for the best game demo, securing funding to complete your project. Before you can get started, a reporter approaches for an interview. The first question is about how it all began and how you met your two partners. First is Chisaki, a serious girl who had to toughen up after being bullied for having two differently colored eyes. Then there’s Konaka, a bubbly artist of lewd images who is excited about everything. Romance is part of the story: Chisaki has been hiding her feelings because you’ve been friends for years, while Konaka falls for you from the moment you meet. The art is decent, with only a few inconsistencies. Most backgrounds have a subtle 3D look that blends well with the scenes, though a few appear to be photos with filters applied. The characters don’t have this issue, but although you hear lots of different people, art is available only for your two friends and one additional character. All characters are voiced except for your own, and while most voices carry a noticeable accent, the main two characters are portrayed by native English speakers and sound more professional. However, you won’t get to experience much content because the whole thing ends after around one hour and a half. The story is linear, and the only choice comes near the end, when you decide which of the two girls’ suggestions to follow. Extras include the standard music player and gallery, with images unlocked during the main story. There are also buttons leading to a compilation video of streamers playing the game and, more interestingly, a gameplay video with commentary from the game’s voice actors. Even with the extras, the price feels high for the amount of main content. Of course, the value may increase if you’re purchasing it for discounted or free access to future chapters.

Very cute game. I remember playing the original version and liking it which was the first time ever playing a visual novel. Replaying it but as the demo was fun. I would recommend getting the full game if you're interested. :)
