Scaredy Cat is a short, emotional narrative adventure where you play as a young kitty trying to prove she’s brave enough to cross the darkest part of the forest to find a rare flower alone. A journey that starts as a simple dare quickly becomes something deeper, as kitty meets the inhabitants of the forest and has to face the truth about herself.
A short but heartfelt experience (~10–20 minutes);

The game was made as a part of a Summer Studies course at Kajaani University of Applied Sciences in just a few months. This is out first Steam release! :)

Yeah its free, but its mostly glitchy fetch quests that don't control very well. Since this is a kids game, its likely to do nothing but frustrate young, inept gamers.

It's cute... and it works. Not a very good game, but I guess it's worth the price (free) and time needed to finish it (short). It even has some charm as a simple adventure game. [spoiler]Objectively:[/spoiler] 5.5/10

I enjoyed the amusing dialogue. I did not enjoy the janky tree climbing platforming section, but it was short so not that big a deal. If you have the quest log open during the dance minigame the quests cover up some of the button prompts. Although this looks like it could be a children's game from the art style I would not recommend it for all children due to it taking a somewhat dark shift.
For a school project, not bad! Certainly there's things to be improved in the story, and especially in the game design, but because of how short the game is, it doesn't impact the gaming experience too much. Story is pretty simple, foreshadowing is lowkey obvious lol, but I was still taken by surprise at the twist reveal! Game design wise, quest system could have more information, just for stupid people like me who forget immediately what I need to do. Very specifically, when the objective is to go to a location, I found myself meandering a bit due to the openness of the level. I did enjoy the little side characters and the dialogue (yes, I read pretty much everything lol, I appreciate the work put into it). That being said, the maze section could do with a little dialogue. I didn't get why Kitty was passing out lmao until I figured out with the lamps that it's dark, and she's scared haha. Something to indicate that I did grab the monocle would be nice too, bc I just saw some glowing string and picked it up silently. Girlie super strong carry bigass monocle with no words. Cute game! Worth a play, but lmao dont assume this is relaxing, bc the parkour... My god... I almost crashed out HAHA
The labyrinth was impossible to get through and upon quitting to desktop, it crashed my PC and gave me black screen/locked out my keyboard. Don't install.
Art direction is great could benefit from better writing but it's great for a summer project
