About
Savage is a single-player action game that allows players to experience MMORPG-style boss battles. Two characters, the Paladin and the Archer, each fulfill their roles and take on formidable enemies in battle.
This game, which focuses on boss battles, requires no tedious pre-battle preparations or boring wait times for matchmaking. Dive into ultimate boss fights immediately after starting the game!
This game is for players who:
Love high-end MMO raids
Enjoy learning boss mechanics
Prefer mastering fights alone
In MMORPGs, leveling up and gathering equipment are usually necessary preparations. However, in this game, which focuses on boss battles, players can challenge a boss immediately after starting the game.
There are about 30 types of boss battles available, including high-difficulty battles that could be considered endgame content, all of which can be played solo.
There's no need to wait for team members to assemble. You won't be bothered by the need to communicate with other players. Enjoy battling formidable foes on your own to your heart's content.
The battle progresses in real time, with two characters each fulfilling their roles to defeat the boss. Typically, the character not controlled by the player is either managed by the CPU or another player, but this game is different. You will control both characters simultaneously in real time.
For example, in terms of movement controls, the left stick on the gamepad controls the Paladin, while the right stick controls the Archer, allowing intuitive operation of each character with your left and right hands respectively. (Keyboard and mouse controls are also available.)
This control scheme enables a game experience similar to MMORPGs, where the battle progresses from multiple character perspectives simultaneously, even though it's a single-player game.

This is so fun, glad I found this hidden gem
It's a hidden gem. Reminds me of impossible boss fights custom map from W3.
If you like raiding in FF XIV, this is your game
Last year, I quit MMO's, but I've really missed raiding; then I found this game. Savage is a no nonsense, single player, quality raid boss-rush. If you are looking for a game to scratch that itch of facing larger than life bosses, managing your tank-dps-healing, and figuring out intense boss mechanics then this game is for you. Stop reading, buy the game. It's well worth it. If you need a little more information; let me cover the gameplay, content, critiques, and miscellaneous good things in a "spoiler-free" manner to convince you to buy this product. GAMEPLAY Savage's most unique aspects is simultaneously controlling two characters: Paladin and Archer. Managing this takes some getting used to, but once it clicks it feels really good to master. Your classic trinity of damage tanking, and healing is divided like so: Damage is dealt automatically if a character is in range and blocking/healing are actives that pause your attacking. Little optimizations like proper positioning, timing actives between auto attacks, and knowing what attacks to pay attention, makes for an elegant system through simplicity, because there is a lot going on once the boss music starts. The bosses themselves are well thought out, have compelling designs, and have hype music. Avoiding damage circles, managing mechanics, and staying alive is the name of the game. Overall, trial and error is how you clear stages. Once you understand why you wipe, and overcoming it gives an amazing dopamine rush. Stat checking/winning at character creation is not a thing here; you have to play by the rules and master the systems to win. CONTENT The game features a tutorial + 6 stages + 6 extreme bosses. Each stage has 3 bosses, with the first two teaching you the base mechanics for the third big fight, which will be further complicated by their own mechanics. After clearing stage 6, you unlock an EXTREME fight for each main boss and they are not for the faint of heart. Finally if you like collecting/progressing/completing/achievement-ing, the very simple, "clear the boss without fainting" objective gave a satisfying incentive to revisit content. Regarding $/hour I have currently cleared up to extreme stage 2, and it's taken me 9 quality hours of bossing to do so. I feel like I have plenty more to do, but no bloat or fluff that make it overstay it's welcome. Additional content updates have happened twice thus far for 2 new stages, but I am yet to get to them :P NOTES FOR THE DEV The small critiques I have is that the balance seems just a bit underwhelming. HP, CRIT, and MP seem overshadowed by DEF and ATK, and the bonuses from many items make them seem obsolete. Maybe it's just me, but it feels like there is one clear way to play that's better than other variations. That said, the one way to play is rewarding and the encounters are truly something the Dev(s) should be proud of. (I also ran into some minor performance issues in stage 3, but turning down settings fixed it.) MISC. GOOD THINGS The demo has all six stages (but numbers/balance are different from the main game) which is absolutely bonkers. You basically get to try out the game for free, and decide if you want more. Huge bonus for being consumer friendly. If you've made it this far and are still on the fence, just play the demo and see for yourself. TL;DR buy this game if you like MMO raiding, quality content for a steal of a price, and consumer friendly practices/development. Thank you for reading, and I really hope this game gets more well deserved recognition.
Wonderful gameplay challenge, clearly inspired by FF14 to capture the challenge without having to deal with the people. Feels like a passion project that was made by someone who had played FF14 and wanted to recapture the fun of the raids without the usual MMO hassle. The controls are simple but can be very confusing at times as you operate both characters at the same time, when it comes to ability use this is fairly simple but movement can take some getting used to and even after clearing all the fights (minus the no checkpoint or Rank A mob hunts) I still occasionally walk into a death wall as my brain gasses out and I move the wrong character the wrong way. That's part of the experience, for however often it happens it's not really the end of the world, just reset and try again. The fights are reasonable short, always around 6 minutes (the mob hunts are 12 but you get a checkpoint midway). That's where this feels good as a former FF14 Player, the pace is yours to set, wipe as much as you want then take a break, or grind it out. There's no partyfinder to wait for a group to fill or getting people of various skills, just you. You also don't need to worry about things like DPS rotations and the like, just positioning and uptime. Savage Ultimate Boss Fight just focuses purely on the mechanics of the fights. If you like a fun gameplay challenge that is well tailored and some familiar mechanics from MMOs I would highly recommend.
This is one of the best if not THE best game inspired from mmorpg-type of battles. You go in with a party, to each have their own responsibility, and everything combines into this magical dance. As someone that does high-end content in FFXIV (which I assume this is greatly inspired from), this does gave you that certain itch in which you will never get from another game. You have two classes that you control at the same time, a paladin and an archer. The paladin deals close ranged attack and able to erect a shield that can mitigate around them and later on, gaining another ability that can summon a shield on the archer. The archer deals far ranged attack and able to heal (lowest health percentage-based prioritized). This is simple at the first few battle as I am certain you're not used to control two things at the same time, so for those that's already good at it, it might come as a slog, but push through and you'd be able to see some of the most fun mechanics, that being a love letter to the FFXIV-inspired bosses, and even moreso later, you'd be seeing something even more unique and original (that I wish FFXIV would be inspired back plsplspls) They even updated with more bosses with multiple phases! and to this day, they still updated their game (which I am thankful for, keep up the good work) that I don't mind paying if the quality of the battles are getting better, hit harder, and also forces me to record the fight to analyze what went wrong. Where there's good, there's also bad. There's two major gripes, one is something that I understand cannot be changed, and another that should be addressed. 1. If you see the images, you can see that sometimes it's hard to measure the actual distance of the edge of the arena in which you can easily fall, this is especially hard if you went north of the arena (which you will be doing a lot), thankfully the dev knows this and some fights are designed in a way that you will able to see...99% of the time, this is especially true if you start being greedy for your melee/paladin uptime. 2. Some effects are a bit too much, especially at
Shiva
stage and the new rank A stage, it makes the game a tad bit laggier than what I hoped for as I already turned the quality all the way to low, I hope that there's an option to disable some of the effects That's pretty much about it, I sincerely hoped that people would try this game more. One thing though, please add more 'puzzle' mechanics,
Seraphim
fight is one of the best fight in the game and I sincerely curses you (with love) dev for being able to make
Grand Stream
, love to hate it <3 10/10, would die again.
Awesome game, controlling 2 characters is a really fun and unique brain twister. Please Please Please put cast bars for adds in the top left corner
Real good game while the feeling of attacks feels off the boss fights are really well designed and lots of fun
