I was very excited to play this game and really wanted to like it. However, my experience was quite disappointing. I will start by saying that there are things I like about this game. The art design is adorable, the music is cheerful and very fun to listen to, and I have always been a big fan of animals with ridiculously long necks. The characters and the Banjo-Kazooie-esque voices are very cute. The things I dislike about this game and cause me to not recommend this to others lie within the gameplay. When I began the game and completed the short tutorial, I started out by completing what I thought were side quests you could do alongside the "main game". These quests involve accomplishing a small task (ranging from "find a guy who is about 15 feet away from you" to "follow a guy around a little") and then playing one of the titular sports. Right away I noticed that the AI is clumsy and quite dumb. In soccer, the animals crowd into a corner around one ball and leave the other unattended. Occasionally, someone will approach this unguarded ball and push it straight into their OWN GOAL. Their own completely unguarded goal. Another thing I noticed is that the camera stays in the center of the screen and does not follow me in the slightest. I understand this for multiplayer, but there is no reason for this when I am the only one playing. The camera causes me to lose track of where and who I am, especially since there is often a bot on the other team that uses the same character as me. I also sometimes forget what team I am on since I cannot see myself well and the only indication of this is my nametag. My suggestion is to give all the characters pinnies that correspond to their team color while playing a sport. Maybe you could even choose a number to put on your uniform so you are harder to lose track of. The camera even lets me go off the screen completely, which is very difficult to deal with. One of these aforementioned quests involved me following a bat character and it eventually pinned me to the character and moved me automatically for a good 10 seconds. I do not understand why I couldn't have just walked this distance myself. The quests themselves and the choices the NPCs give me do not feel like they matter. I was given the option to choose a disguise for an NPC only for both this NPC and the one who tasked me with picking the outfit to tell me that they did not like it. Whether or not you win the sport does not feel like it matters either - it just gives me "quest complete" and the game moves on. After I finished all three of these "side quests" which I thought were just for practice, it gave me a "day ended" screen. This left me thinking "...that's the game?" At this point, I decided not to go any further as I was not having any fun. In summary, I love the artistic qualities of this game, but the gameplay itself is just not very fun, and so I do not recommend purchasing this.

First impressions: This game is adorable! The gameplay is fun, the AI for single vs. computer is competitive, and the animations are so cute I even enjoy just standing around and wobbling.
Couldn't see my mouse cursor. Somehow sorted that out. My settings wouldn't save, I tried to join it said press space to join. I pressed space. NOTHING HAPPENED
I at first thought it was a good investment but i finished the game and its just plain not fun even the mini games when played with friends are really bland.Join the Frozen Food brigade in the Frozen Food steam group
Having this much fun playing with other wieners is almost as fun as it is in real life! 10/10 would smack others with my sausage again p.s. dirk is my favorite character p.p.s. hold the triggers while you play! p.p.p.s. i saw this at pax south back in 2017 and i loved it, so you bet it was a day 1 purchase!
I wanted to play this game, because it looked fun. But when I first try, the controls was not working. I have standard USB controllers and the game did not recognize them. I wanted to rebind the controls in the settings menu but that was also not working. When I clicked on an action (i.e. move X direction) the game randomly did bind a key which I was not hitting. I've tried xpadder to map the controller's buttons to the keyboard but in the game I was not able to use those keys I've previously set in xpadder (i.e. 'F' key) I've unistalled and re-installed the game but the issue is still there. It is possible to play this in solo because the default controls are working (arrow keys, 'Q', 'W', 'Space' std) but I bough this game for local multiplayer and for that it's just not working.
very good game

SSG is great! The multiplayer whackiness alone is worth the price for this game, but the adventure mode is also fantastic! Definitely would recommend (I have it on Itch.io as well)
Soo.. it wasn't fun, because of exposition. A party game does not need plot or talk-missions. Just give me a fun quick party play and fun mini-games. The dog animations were there, the game play just didn't grab us, and we got bored after a bit, and went to the next game. As a local couch party game, this was not a good time, and it's a damn shame. Maybe it gets better when you unlock everything, but it had my group bored after 10 minutes, and we didn't really enjoy the mini-games we played.... and the whole talking to dogs in the park was BORING AF. Sorry.. skip this one.
