The colors are amazing, the game play is amazing, the movement is excellent, the fun times are coming in!!! I love this game and so will you! The only bad reviews I can see this guy getting is because someones computer can't run it for what ever reason...but if you guys read this, just download the game and play it for your self, it's A BLAST!!! There's a fair bit to like about Sanguine Soul, with it being a free game. The game follows the short tale of Malieun, a corrupt sorcerer king who cares little for his subjects. The title opens with him being overthrown by fellow mage Noor, in an attempt to seize the throne for themselves. The story is presented in comic style cutscenes, reminiscent of those found in games like Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops. The art is nicely drawn, with a rough and sketchy feel to it. The camera pans over the art as dialogue is delivered, and the characters move slightly. The art is the main thing carrying the moments of plot, because with minimal movement and the downright amateurish voice acting, you won't be getting that invested in the story. The gameplay is based around an interesting mechanic where you can burn your health bar to restore your magic and versa versa. This creates a gameplay loop where you're always burning away one to restore each-other, deciding on which is more important in the moment. I frequently found myself dropping my health bar so I could take out the remaining enemies in the area, with more fireballs. The game is a first person spell-slinger, that sees you shooting fireballs, dash-charging and raising shields to absorb incoming damage. Admittedly my favorite part of the game was when you unlock the massive AOE exploding fireball; this attack is just a joy to use and was the source of most of the fun I had with this game. Just letting that loose and watching the stone guardians in one area fly apart is pretty cool. The game looks mediocre but the visuals get the job done for the short experience that is on offer here. The enemy variety comes in three forms one a roaming rock golem, the other static serpent statues that act as snipers and stone devils. The models for all the enemy types look nice, with the statues having more detail than the rock sentries. The level design is straight forward, decently paced and makes use of the players ablities; there's pits to dash across, bookcases to jump over and corridors to navigate. The developers were kind enough to add magical ramps to prevent backtracking when you fell off something, so big points for that. You'll spend most of your time tracking down keys to progress and blasting enemies apart. A magical barrier locks you into a combat room, until the enemies are taken care of; similar to how some Hack N Slash games function. The game is far too short to be considered a full experience, with me finishing it in about 25 minuets. The ending is also a letdown lacking any sort of final boss or challenge; instead the wizard Noor is dispatched in a so bad it's good style cutscene. Malieun then turns on the rest of his subjects for their role in the downfall of the kingdom. Summing up for a free game on Steam, I can say I had a bit of fun with the gameplay and enjoyed playing around with the core mechanics. The whole experience feels more like a demo or a proof of concept due to it's incredibly short length. I like the Arabian setting and magical combat; however I would like to see Sanguine Soul one day become a longer fully fledged experience. With a fully fleshed out magic system, featuring base fireballs that have more Omph! to them. The game runs solid and is a breeze to get through on a controller. Would I recommend the game? Well yeah, it's free. You could do worse than this, next time you're looking for something new to try something new or need to kill 30 minuets while waiting for that anime to buffer.

Really neat game. Looks good and handles well, the voice acting could use some work xD https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ytWa5TeJxjA&feature=youtu.be
Very unique core gameplay loop in a neatly packaged game.
People, how are you not playing this game?! * It's free with NO micro transactions, it looks great, it plays great, it doesn't baby you, and it's FUN! I don't do/like FPS games and I still think it's awesome. (I did die a ton of times, as usual when I try to play FPS. T.T ) * There are three stages, I got to the beginning of the second area before I had to left-button dash outta there (there was a massacre happening- mine) to tell you all about this little gem of a game ...which is free. * So, what's not to like? You must have a controller to play (seriously, you don't own one already?) No cards or achievements, which means you would play it because you like to have fun? For free fun? Did I mention this game is free? Like a totally free good game? Just checking. :P
Bu birinci şahıs aksiyon macera keşif oyununda Malieun'un intikam arayışını deneyimleyin! Gezgin büyücü Noor'un suikast girişiminden zar zor kurtulan Malieun, büyülü enerjisini ve yaşam gücünü değiştirmesine olanak tanıyan yeni keşfedilen bir gücü keşfeder.
Behind the facade of graphical polish lies a game that managed to both annoy and bore me within 20 minutes due to ONE primary fire, a dash that doesn't properly work and three enemy types; one of which are intolerable little creatures that snipe you with their lasers from afar, with precise shots, dealing loads of damage. Now of course I could've trained to defeat all of them, but if a game has such limited scope and ambitions, with three, mostly two endlessly repeating, boring enemy types, some broken spawns or AI behaviour, a bland setting and embarassingly bad cutscenes, why should I even bother? 3/10
"Sanguine Soul" is, I am really hoping, a student project or something... which might go as some way to explaining why it's so bad. If it's not, then this is just an unmitigated disaster. If it is, well, we can just wonder if any of the students graduated. What do you do in the game? This is a first person shooter, a bad one, with limited attacks, busted dash mechanics, zero polish, cringe voice acting and annoying cutscenes, repetitive enemies with terrible AI... really there's no saving graces here apart from the game being a bit easy. I don't think it matters if a game is easy or hard if it's so badly made nobody wants to play it. The graphics aren't great, a bunch of mismatched looking (sometimes) low poly assets... it's a hectic and incongruous looking mess.. That's understandably a turn off for a lot of gamers, and it's a big contributor to the failure of the game to attract gamers despite having no up-front cost. Gaming is a primarily visual medium, and if developers want to succeed, they must understand that it's not an area for compromise. You deserve better than compromises. Insultingly, the developer insists that you should play this with a console peasant children's toy gamepad instead of KB+M. You cannot play this without a console peasant children's toy. Developers should try to be aware which platform they're designing games for. It's the responsibility of the developer to ensure the game runs well on the platform they're selling it on, with the primary peripherals that PC gamers use. This game is fairly dated at 5 years old... and even back then it looked old and busted compared to contemporary, professionally made 3D games of the same period. It looked bad then, it looks worse now. Now on to pricing and value for gamers. This is "free" enough (not every "free" game in the "free" section is truly free, there's usually some hidden price tag), at least you won't be expected to spend any more money after you download this, but just because something is free doesn't mean it's good, and the cost of a game is more than just financial, your time is valuable too. In terms of public reception, this failed. There's over 130 million unique gamers visiting Steam every month. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 3 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Since free games don't contribute to your game collector badge and other profile stuff, is this a worthwhile addition to your Steam library? I think you should give this one a miss. Although it's free, your time and storage are valuable resources, and the market is filled with superior options.
