SACRIFICE VILLAINS is a dark science-fiction visual novel developed by CLOCKUP and published by Shiravune that explores the collapse of morality within a society obsessed with heroes, villains, and power. Rather than presenting a straightforward conflict between justice and evil, the game builds a grim world where corruption, manipulation, and emotional trauma define nearly every relationship. Combining dystopian storytelling with psychological drama and mature themes, the experience delivers an unsettling narrative that constantly challenges the player’s perception of heroism and humanity. It is not a comfortable story to experience, but that discomfort is precisely what gives the game its identity and emotional impact. The setting revolves around a futuristic society where enhanced individuals possess extraordinary abilities and are celebrated as protectors against violent criminals and villains. However, the game quickly reveals that the system controlling these so-called heroes is deeply flawed and morally compromised. Characters are treated less like people and more like disposable tools used to maintain public order and political influence. As the narrative unfolds, the distinction between hero and villain begins to blur, revealing a world where survival often requires sacrificing one’s ideals, morality, or even personal identity. One of the game’s greatest strengths is its oppressive atmosphere. From the opening scenes, SACRIFICE VILLAINS establishes a tone filled with tension, hopelessness, and emotional instability. Even moments that initially seem calm are layered with unease, creating the feeling that disaster is always approaching. The world itself feels broken, with its dark urban environments, oppressive organizations, and emotionally damaged characters reinforcing the sense of societal decay. This atmosphere remains consistent throughout the story and becomes one of the primary reasons the narrative feels so emotionally exhausting in a deliberate and effective way. The writing places heavy emphasis on psychological conflict and emotional deterioration. Rather than relying entirely on action sequences or dramatic twists, the story focuses on the gradual collapse of its characters under the weight of fear, guilt, obsession, and manipulation. Nearly every major character is morally flawed or emotionally unstable in some way, making their interactions unpredictable and often disturbing. Relationships are shaped by distrust, dependency, trauma, and desperation, giving the cast a complexity that helps separate the game from more traditional visual novels centered around simplistic heroic ideals. The visual presentation complements the narrative extremely well. Character designs are detailed and expressive, capturing emotional vulnerability and psychological strain through subtle facial expressions and body language. Background environments lean heavily into dark futuristic imagery, using sterile facilities, ruined cityscapes, and dimly lit interiors to reinforce the game’s oppressive tone. The art direction consistently supports the story’s themes of emotional isolation and societal corruption, helping the experience maintain a strong visual identity from beginning to end. Music and sound design also play an important role in shaping the emotional experience. The soundtrack frequently uses melancholic piano compositions, ambient electronic tracks, and tense orchestral pieces to create an atmosphere of dread and emotional exhaustion. Silence is often used just as effectively as music during major scenes, allowing tension to build naturally before emotional confrontations occur. Voice acting further strengthens the presentation, helping characters feel believable even during the story’s more disturbing or emotionally intense moments. Despite being primarily a visual novel with limited gameplay interaction, the pacing generally remains engaging because of how effectively the story escalates emotional tension over time. The narrative slowly introduces mysteries surrounding the world, the organizations controlling the heroes, and the psychological state of the characters themselves. Instead of relying entirely on shocking scenes for impact, the game gradually builds emotional pressure until the darker aspects of the story become impossible to ignore. This slower approach allows many of the major revelations and emotional breakdowns to feel earned rather than forced. At the same time, SACRIFICE VILLAINS is clearly aimed at a very specific audience. The mature themes, graphic emotional content, and bleak worldview may be overwhelming for players expecting a more conventional superhero or science-fiction story. The narrative frequently explores disturbing psychological situations and intentionally pushes its characters into emotionally painful territory. Players who dislike oppressive storytelling or morally ambiguous narratives may find the experience exhausting rather than compelling. Additionally, because the game is heavily focused on reading and dialogue, players searching for interactive gameplay systems may struggle to stay invested during the longer exposition-heavy sequences. There are also moments where the pacing slows considerably due to extended conversations and internal monologues. Some supporting characters receive less attention than others, and a few plot developments feel intentionally cruel in ways that may divide audiences. However, the game’s strongest moments are powerful enough to outweigh many of these issues, largely because the story remains committed to its themes without compromising its tone for easier emotional resolutions. What makes SACRIFICE VILLAINS stand out is its refusal to romanticize heroism or offer simple answers to moral questions. It presents a world where power corrupts nearly everyone involved and where emotional survival becomes more important than victory itself. The game’s bleak storytelling, psychologically damaged cast, and oppressive atmosphere create an experience that feels emotionally heavy long after the story concludes. SACRIFICE VILLAINS ultimately succeeds as a dark and emotionally intense visual novel that blends dystopian superhero fiction with psychological horror and mature storytelling. Its unsettling atmosphere, morally complicated characters, and emotionally relentless narrative create a memorable experience for players willing to embrace its darker themes. While its harsh tone and disturbing subject matter will not appeal to every audience, those looking for a serious and psychologically driven visual novel will likely find it compelling, thought-provoking, and difficult to forget. Rating: 8/10
我的xp还是应付不过来这种 ,太自由了
Misleading. It's not a game or even a VN (Visual Novel). Its an idea for a VN. The story begins then cuts off with credits. There is even a skip to last choice option when there are no choices that were presented to the player. I have no idea what this product was supposed to be like, but on Steam Deck it was buggy only to cut off to nothing if debugged. Waste of time and money.
Even with the patch, I got to say, where's the game? Unless you're here for straight up superhero erotica, I can not recommend the game. Yeah, sure, some of the art was good, and I wouldn't mind a more normal 'game' featuring just Night Charger,, but there were hardly any choices, and I kind of doubt any of the few that existed mattered in the least. Just my opinion, but I think with more choice points and other game elements (maybe stats and training or something?) and a whole lot less adult content, this team would be very capable of making a good game. But in my opinion this one wasn't a game. As I am rating it as a game and not superhero erotica, I am going to give it 1 out of 5 stars.
Without patch: 0/100 With patch: ?/100 Patch required, apparently. You just get an "intro" if you play without it I never use patches. Never. And I can say FOR SURE: of all the VNs that I've finished, this is the worst. But if you usually play with the patch, then it'll probably be good
原價購入也絕對值得,劇情豐富圖片也實用,重點是配音可以儲存這點,是其他黃油沒有的,覺得非常棒。
不错,很涩
great hentai game but feels like a chore when you skip dialogue to get specific ending. that said WONDERFUL ART !!!!
