I bought it to play in VR. Unfortunately, the graphics are worse in VR. I still haven't figured out how to squat, even though I've tried all the buttons. Also, some of the robots' dialogues aren't translated into Russian. Pros: it's a metroidvania, weapons with modules, an interesting plot and setting. Great platforming for VR. Overall, the game has huge potential. I really hope that the developers won't abandon it and will finish the game.
A Real VR Hidden Gem
Played on Meta Quest 3 using link cable, also works very well on ROG Ally X, so steam deck should be fine in theory. I came into this game not knowing what to expect, it turned out to be one of my favourite, if not THE favourite VR game so far this year! It has great art style, humour, puzzles, level design and weapons. Mix Borderlands with Vertigo with a sprinkle of Half Life and you get Rusty's Day Off. Really looking forward to episode 2! Here is my playthrough in VR, contains complete spoilers, so watch at your own risk! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CACcgu34VVQ
This is such an awesome game. Onestone Software is a great small team of one person which i think has created an awesome gem of a game. If this game gets support for Episode 1 we can then expect Episode 2 to finish the story. It's a great FPS for VR and we need more games like this. Great Job Onestone Software. It brings me back to the days of Mario 64 and Banjoe & Kazooie in VR.
Days away from retirement Rusty's is back to fix more than he expected.
This game is fun! It's got humor, it's got intrigue, it's got puzzles to solve, and more! The VR port also handles itself well too. 5/7 would recommend!
For a game made by just one person, Rusty's Day Off punches way above its weight. The controls are really nice and weighty, graphics are very pretty and have a unique style to them, writing is funny without being obnoxious or resorting to memes. There is very little handholding in this game and it's easy to get lost sometimes, so it is a little old school in that regard, but I am having a really good time.
+Another half-like, and an amazing one. +The "weapons" are fun to use. +The movement is too good for this kind of game. +Puzzles are really good, make me feel dumb sometime. +Story is very interesting, at the moment.
2.4 hours down so far and i have really enjoyed this platformer. ive only played it in vr, great game. lots of fun. the first boss fight was very difficult but worth it. there is some little puzzles and such . i will be beating this game thats for sure edit. i beat the game it took about 3.5 hours id recommend picking it up for the sale price. definitely good but it left me wanting more.
Bought on sale to try and man is this game a blast, fairly short but so much fun :) Boss battles are challenging but fair. cant believe this was made by a one man team! Amazing! Hope to get Episode 2 when it releases :)
fun fps game in flatscreen and vr. the game has puzzle and fun movement 8/10
