If I wanted to play Valheim Beta, I would have bought Valheim 6 years ago...
So far I'm really enjoying the game. I've just gotten to the point where I'm able to make all bronze items and gear. I find theres abit of a learning curve for figuring out recipes or what you need material wise to unlock things to progress but can clearly just google online if need be. The game seems like the perfect diffuclty, not too easy but can be frustrating in certain areas and times where if you don't play perfect you certainly are going to die. (I've died ALOT just trying to yolo hunts and raids) I went with dragonwilds over Valheim even though I do own both but Runescape is known to last so I think in the long run they will continue to pump out great content. Game is really nice for us older folks no pressure to hop on grind and can go at own pace. Played alot of new world and didn't care for the pvp so this fills the void perfectly for me. ps The archer class sucks balls but I've heard its getting re worked Also recommend find the fps boost online, I was stuttering and getting around 30 fps and now getting constant 120 fps Not sure if I can say this in review but I used Techi Savi's fps guide
Arguably the worst building mechanics I've ever seen in a survival game. More generic UE5 slop with Runescape branding slapped on top of it.
i rarely hav this "addiction" to games, but this game, just caught my eyes, my time, and my heart get yourself a good frieng and enjoy the world (its my first time trying any runescape game)
i don't have any nostalgia for their other runescape titles, so this is coming from someone really loving valheim. Game felt extremely clunky and annoying to play. Everything just seems like it has 1-2 button too many per action you wanna do. Setting is nice, visuals are cute, performance was mediocre on a good rig (we had some lags in a 2 man multiplayer before refunding the game within the first hour).
A nice middleground between Enshrouded and Valheim. The music is extremely reminiscent of the ladder, honestly there's times I'm half convinced the score was made by the same team. Really fun to just relax and play at a casual pace. I'm not usually huge into the open-world survival genre, but this feels enough like an RPG with the skill development/spells that I'm having a much better time with it.
CROSSPLAY DOES NOT WORK! Cross play enabled. Agreement accepted, esc. Nothing is updating my account to play.
Solo=No

Duo=Middle Rating

The Good
-Beautiful Artstyle -Lots of spells that stand out from any other survival game on the market -Base building is great -Crafting variety is wonderful -Cheap fast travel building
The Bad
-Optimization isn't great -Somewhat craft from storage (You have to manually place items in a store for a lot of crafting stations) -A lot of Arrows need items that must be farmed from mobs instead of crafting, which feels unfair since Magic can craft an infinite amount of Runes easily. -Law Runes--The Runes needed to fast travel--are unlocked way too late. Eventually you can't fast travel unless you grind excessively to hit 50 in Runecrafting.
The Ugly
-Combat is horrendous (Supposedly being reworked but it needs a complete overhaul so hopefully it isn't minor tweaks. -Infinite death loops. This is the worst offender. Here's how it goes; You drop everything in your inventory on death but keep your Armor. Certain areas such as a poison biome, require you to have a potion or food buff to survive it, so if you happen to not have the resource for another potion, while running without a weapon, you're SoL. And the even WORSE offender - mid game, there's a biome where you have to take a debuff to travel through gates. While in the "ghost" form, you cannot eat to heal, AND there's a timer, and if the timer runs out you die. So here's what happens, you die in the biome, you have to run back with no weapon or items, take the debuff, and run to your body, BUT - as you run ghost Wolves will continously spawn, they're fast and hit hard. To remove this debuff there are altars you use to cleanse yourself, BUT you need an axe to break the vines around it each time--it resets--that Axe is on your body. If you do manage to get your body, within the time, survive the wolves, get your axe, and make it to the alter, you have to chop the vines... here's the kicker, after all that, you cannot cut the vines because there's SO many wolves attacking that there's no time, AND you cannot heal since you're in that debuff. Resulting in an infinite death loop. Overall, it has some solid things to bring to the table, but the combat and especially infinite death loops brings me to put it at a solid middle rating to negative, an option to disable drop loot on death would fully fix the death loops, but if that isn't ever removed or fixed, I really can't recommend suffering. TLDR: Games great at the start, then breaks dramatically.
One single bug has rendered the last 100 hours on this game null. Forget the bad audio bugs, I can play through that and be happy. Forget the random item loss bugs that happen AFTER the audio starts getting shotty. How about in the black knight castle I'm shadow banned from fighting the boss and progressing because APPARENTLY if your quest item inventory is full, when you dig up the glass owl to give for a dream stone, that glass owl fizzles and every time you search the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ chest on your world or anyone else's - it's just empty and you can't have the quest item. Absolutely broken. Fix this please so I can support this game and play; otherwise, I'll never play this beautiful cooked buggy mess again. RIP
!!ONLY THUMB DOWN TO INFORM!! !!KEEP READING!! I'm only making this to inform people and/or developers that the game crashes when using the fishing poles (will delete after it is fixed). I love the game and all the other improvements they have made, looking forward to continuing playing the rest of the update!!!!!! Hope Developers see this and others so it can be updated/fixed
