This game is amazing. Hands down 10 out of 10.
It's like Runescape, but so much better. Imagine Runescape but a bit less grindy and a lot better looking. It's not restricted to the grid based movement/building and the mobility seems so much smoother, oh yeah, and we can jump.
This is a very fun game when you are playing it with your buddies and its also enjoyable when playing solo.
Expected DW to be a shallow survival game with a runescape layer of paint but it's honestly one of the most enjoyable experiences I've had within this genre. It's refreshing, simple yet deep with a tonne of enjoying content pulled from the RS universe which if you were not an RS player you could very easily understand and enjoy just as much I believe. Coming from a runecape background I get really excited seeing some of the iconic weapons & monsters in new ways, coming across your first Abyssal demon as a runescape player really is something else in this game and gives them a whole new level of epicness! There's a wide viarety of bosses, mini bosses and normal enemy types that make the game feel not so repetitive and with the additions of new skills with each major update the game is evolving into something truly deep. DW makes great use of runescapes skills & each skill comes with a set of special spells that help enhance your QOL or combat abilities and utlising all of them gives gameplay alot of depth. Overall i've sunk 80 hours into the game and have only just reached (at the time of writing this review) the games last biome the Umbral Sands which seems to be a large area with alot of content to take in so I can imagine going well over 100 hours before completing this section of the game aswell. DW offers a main quest line that advances you through the world but also many side quests that offer rewards for different weapons & equipment that personally i haven't touched on at all... with all the extra questing and collecting I could easily run 200 hours+ along with all the base building and creativity the game offers this game is more than worth it's price tag right now, the Road map to 1.0 is still incomplete aswell as we await 1 more major update which adds the final tier of equipment and biome. DW seems as though it will be getting further support after 1.0, whether they decide to continue updating the game for free or if they charge for future expansions is yet to be seen but if this game is a pay once only price tag up until 1.0 I would say it's more than worth its money.
I'm addicted to osrs and this game scratches all my itches
