About
A group of unsuspecting tourists has crashed their van into a long-forgotten pyramid, and now there’s no turning back. As they venture deeper into the tomb, they’ll face dangers lurking around every corner—but the biggest threat of all? The ancient pharaoh himself, come back to exact his revenge!
As a tourist, you’ll only have your ultra-powerful camera to protect you from the denizens of the pyramids. Your camera can charge up a blinding flash to trigger deadly traps, destroy scarabs, and even stun mummies—if you can hold out long enough. The longer you charge it, the more powerful the flash becomes, but the mummies close in fast! Will the camera charge in time, or will you be overwhelmed?
Outrun the Mummies: Fast-paced gameplay keeps the action moving and the stakes high. Run away from mummies to avoid damage, or stand still to charge your camera and feel your heart racing as enemies close the gap.
Outsmart the Mummies: Master your environment to trap or destroy the mummies pursuing you.
Diverse Mechanics: New enemies and traps are introduced every few levels to keep the gameplay fresh all the way to the end.
Unique Characters: From a rollerblader to a drone operator, find and unlock new characters with unique abilities, movement, and cameras.
Loads of Content: We made this game bigger than we should have - there are 112 levels, each of which takes 2-5 minutes. Expect over 20 hours of gameplay to enjoy your first time through!
Challenge Modes: Elevate your heart rate with a time attack mode, or layer on incrementally hard difficulty options that fundamentally change the way you interact with the levels.
Take it Easy: For those who want a more scenic experience, there are a several options for bringing the difficulty down dramatically. Play at your own pace!
Play through the entire campaign solo, or grab some friends to play together! Up to 4 players can play the entire game locally, or remotely using Steam Remote Play. Embrace the chaos of escaping mummies as a full tour group, and laugh at your friends as they run into traps!

Reviews
This is legitimately one of my favorite games. I'm struggling to keep this concise, but I'll do my best tl;dr Pros: Diverse content, good music and art, engaging gameplay, fun story, couch coop Cons: Steam's Remote Play can be cantankerous Minor disclosure - I was in no way sponsored, however I did participate in the kickstarter, and you can even find me as an NPC at basecamp (look in odd places). That's the opposite of being sponsored, but I feel I should mention that for transparency.
Gameplay

Controls
The game is extremely responsive and rewards good technical play without demanding it. The skill ceiling is VERY high, especially with characters like Asuka or Ricardo.
Difficulty
I find the difficulty in the game very satisfying at baseline. It's challenging without being frustrating. It's clear that their approach to obstacles for the player is that you should always feel like it's fair. Having said that, there is a bit of a skill floor. The game can be difficult before getting used to the controls and gameplay
Content Diversity
There are 3 main ways to play the game, plus a fun house with a bunch of awesome minigames (Mummy Blasters is my Favorite).
Standard Tour
This mode is about exploration. Find the ankhs, discover secrets, delve deeper into the story mysteries, it's a good time with friends. There is also an easy mode if you are finding the game too hard. Don't be ashamed to use it if you want to! The goal is to have fun.
Penny Pinchers
This is a time trial mode where the ankhs are gone, and there are hourglasses to subtract time from your tour. It is possible to get below 0:00 for a free tour, and doable on every level. Getting enough medals will also unlock something fun in the basecamp.
Ascend
Ascend is for those of us who want a challenge. Chaos, aka hard mode, is for those of us who played the game and dared Grant to make it harder. If you enjoy highly technical play, this is the mode for you. Eclipse gives you limited light, making strategic movement important. It adds a very unique, almost spooky element to the game that really changes the experience Other modes include double damage, enemies getting a shield, being chased by an assassin, making photographs explode These are also stackable!
Visuals

Art and Music
Both the art and the music are outstanding. The art has a delightful feel to it, and the music is catchy in the best way.
Game UIs
The UIs are entertaining without being cumbersome. You can tell that they cared about the little details. A lot of care went into giving the game an excellent polish that even AAA games can lack.
Multiplayer

Couch Co-op
Up to 4 players are supported at a time, and you can all play it together on the same tv!
Multiplayer
This is probably my biggest criticism, although I understand why it is the way it is. You have to use Steam Remote Play Together, which means it can be a gamble whether it'll play nice. My understanding is that is lacks normal multiplayer for the same reason as Subnautica, changing it would require extensive re-write of many core functions and the time cost was too high. This is unfortunate, but by no means a deal breaker.
Overall Conclusions
Run From Mummies has engaging and diverse gameplay, augmented by great art and music. I think the three of them did a fantastic job and created something really special here
Feels like zombies ate my neighbors but with unique "combat" and puzzle mechanics. Had a good time with it so far.
Do you like a challenge that will make you giddy? Do you long for couch co-op with your friends back in the day? How about funny gags and lore drop through gameplay? RUN FROM MUMMIES IS FOR YOU! This game is an absolute treat to play solo, and with friends! It has been a while since I have played something so truly wholesome in that it makes me want to keep playing, to keep trying, and to keep RUNNING! The art style adds so much to what is already a very unique and yet nostalgic gameplay structure. The game eases you in with traps and collectables, before springing THE MUMMIES on you and shaking everything up. And, just when you think you've got it down, introduces new enemies that keep you on your toes and always running! Boss fights are challenging, but in the way that you want to keep trying, learning, and finally say "I BEAT THAT!" So many laughs, so much panic, screaming, and running. And did I mention the mini games? Because there's also some hilarious mini games to collect throughout and play with your friends, in true old school couch co-op fashion. I have so thoroughly enjoyed playing this and cannot wait to continue playing more. Highly recommend!
Great game to play with my son!! i highly recommend this.
I like a game with a challenge, but even more I like a game that's just super fun. So far, this game checks both boxes, and as a bonus is very well crafted. I have been interested in this game since the Kickstarter (because it looked like a hilarious couch coop), and am not disappointed. But it's also really fun in single player too. Plenty to do. Unlike some games where the multiplayer makes the levels easier, the dynamic of a bunch of people running around actually can make it no less hard, and is just plain hilarious. The tutorials are helpful and I needed them. I'm on a keyboard and it works great, but I am a bit jealous of my buddies on controllers. May get one too. This is going to be a lot of fun heading into the holidays with friends and visitors.
I didn’t think it was for me at first, but a mate told me to try it out. Now I’m hooked. First off, I 100% thought this was just a puzzle game. But it’s not lol. It’s a bit like a horror game mixed with resident evil maybe? I've had a high heart rate basically the whole time playing. The controls are tight which I appreciate, so it's really been enjoyable to play. I thought the pharaoh boss they were building up to would be the end of the game, but now there’s all these other desert levels and it looks like more beyond that, so seems like a pretty big game which is cool too. Interested to see how big it is in the end. Going to have to try it out with my friends too!
the mummies are scary! lots of fun on steam deck :)
I’ve been having a great time with Run from Mummies, especially with the speed-running aspect. There’s something so satisfying about finding the quickest paths and dodging the mummies just in time. So far, Ricardo has been my go-to character for speed runs, and he’s made the whole experience even better. The music is a huge highlight too—some tracks reminded me of Super Mario Galaxy, adding this cool atmosphere to the game that I wasn’t expecting. At first, the art style took me a minute to get used to, not gonna lie but it has been growning on me. If you’re into games that balance quick reflexes with puzzle elements, give this one a try. Great game overall. It has a lot of content which makes it a good value for the price as well.
A fun puzzle-exploration game to play with friends on the couch. Lots of fun and surprising uses for the camera. Game difficulty ramps up at a steady pace. But I like how when someone dies, the game continues and they can still contribute. We’re having fun playing together!
Really unique game with some clever level design and camera mechanics. Worth checking out! GG!
