Like many others, I like the concept of a platform fighter based on public domain characters. I enjoy the general style, like the hand-drawn animation, and the devs clearly have a ton of love for the game. The downsides are mostly performance-wise - I have a decent gaming computer and it still lagged for me until I turned performance on. The movesets are simplified which makes it a bit difficult to fight (in my test of arcade mode, I had difficulty with the final boss on easy mode), but clearly they have the competitive metagame in mind so I dunno In any case, it has a good skeleton, it's just that there are some parts that need fine-tuning. The price is good, so hopefully they can iron out the issues because there is a good game under them.
Wow! I love this game! The simple controls and wacky and lovable character designs really bring this game to life! I can't wait for the devs to add more characters. I will definitely pay for them! Keep up the good work!

for me it won't open, this happend with the demo too, it would say it was playing but the game would not loud up. is this happening with anyone else
The humor doesn't really hit for me. I'm fairly confident that the only reason that this game has wavedashing is that some people just find wavedashing inherently funny. When I played online in Quickplay mode, the game ignored my controller settings and set me to the default button layout. I'm playing on Linux. It feels like a cheap shot to complain about a game bug on release day, and the devs will probably patch it within the week anyway. But it bothers me enough to bring it up because accommodating people who play other platform fighters was one of the game's big selling points on it's Youtube channel. With all that said, it's a competent enough hand drawn game. Great for it's price.
Mother Goose solved world hunger
game very fun :) clearly lots of love went into it, online is smooth, the alt colors are super fun, excited to see more stuff added in the future
So, good news is the game is great bad news is that in order to play Big Foot, you have to beat the arcade mode, and the final boss is less pleasant to fight then adult circumcision
A pretty fun platform fighter. It has simplified movesets that should appeal to newcomers of the genre or people who could never keep up with the higher APM requirements of more in depth games. However it combines these simple movesets with really fun frantic movement that should appeal to people who have played other more technical games like Rivals or Fraymakers. It even has a few extra quirks like being able to jump during an aerial attack and getting off ledge with any type of move, including specials and grabs. While it won't reach the technical heights of more competitive entrees there's plenty of wrinkles here that keep the game compelling. Probably the highlight of the game is just how lovingly cartoonish it is. The characters are so full of personality and the camera stays at a nice consistent distance so that their expressions are always easy to appreciate. I love older slapstick cartoons and this game captures those so well. I wish every asset in the game was made equally though. There are some stages that feel a bit flat, almost brawlhalla-esc while others look like they were ripped out of Cuphead. All in all it's very enjoyable if you really love the genre, especially its more casual side. I'd recommend it if your preferred way to play these games is with a group of people with the items turned up.
Ignore the short playtime at posting of this, I've been following this game since stumbling upon one of it's earliest trailers posted to YouTube and it's been wonderful to see it finally come to fruition and be out. It's a lovely little platform fighter with plenty of the homages that come with playing in that genre, while also not falling for a lot of the same pitfalls others do in trying to be "Melee 2" in the sense that while this game IS a platform fighter and CAN be played competitively, it is very much designed with similar philosophy to its' core inspiration in having a desire to just be a fun game to play with friends first and foremost, and is even more easily accessible by simplifying a lot of mechanics to a point where anyone can pick it up and play it. The true core of this game, though, and the reason I fell in love with it from the moment I saw that first trailer so long ago, is simple. The level of creativity and passion on display is genuinely insane. A game where the concept is that it is built around characters that are in the public domain lends itself well to some sort of poorly-tossed-together-in-a-weekend-by-one-person sort of game that lends itself to being a novelty and proof of concept and little more, yet here each character is not only beautifully hand-drawn, but the actual designs for the characters are all effectively wholly original character cosplaying as the public domain characters they represent, which is just one of the most genius ideas I've ever seen in a game like this. Pair that with the tripling down of public domain elements via the music and stages, and you've got a game that oozes with charm and so many of it's own original thoughts and ideas all while playing around with the well-known public domain elements yet never fully relying on them to sell the idea. It's borderline perfect. Of course your mileage may vary on whether or not you enjoy this type of fighter, but as someone who does, I'm just so glad it exists. Now please please give us a toggle for the US version to swap between the typical West Egg stage theme and "Poisoning Pigeons in the Park". I love both tracks but I hate needing to swap to the International version just to hear the one song. I can understand the preference for the wholly original track but just having it present /somewhere/ in the US version would absolutely be the cherry on top of an already brilliant, near-perfect experience.
Loved this game since the first beta! They have a great starting roster and its super fun to play! The hand drawn animations and characters add a fantastic touch as well.
