This game has it all, except it hasn't. Unnecessarily it becomes mediocre game instead of becoming another bestseller classic. It is perfect quality, except it isn't. Call me to help you with remake of this game and I will help you make a legendary classic hit. I am so confident that I will fork for profit that you will make on top of your regular sales as a result of my advice. The project apparently lacked some sensitive artistic fan of match-3 games (me). The instructions were there, except they confused me and I didn't know what to do at first. The graphics are great, but little improvement would bring it much higher, to a new heights. The bonus icons ditched the serious gem style into infantile garbage. The introduction graphics make it for small children even though most match-3 fans are aged adults. The sounds are great but little bit of improvement could do a difference. The music is quality, but really it is annoying, heavy, chaotic and negative music in the result. Everything is almost great but then not. The authors tried to be inovative to not make you bored, but they did it in a way that screwed the feel and smoothness of the game. At first I didn't know what to do! I played so many match-3 games that are based on different mechanics that I couldn't understand what is asked from me. The instruction "connect the gems" wasn't clear to me what does it mean. One simple gif image showing the move would do. The mechanics is putting the gems in chain, which wasn't clear to me. Then they invent many different tasks which is a bit unnecessarily chaotic. The well established model is that you make different modes of this game, yet these guys mixed all the modes into one, in apparent effort to make it more interesting, yet it didn't land. Main task for you as player is to create shapes (shapes like in the classic Tetris game) by chaining the gems. Yet somehow again the creators wanted to make it more challenging and screwed it: They must have found out that most difficult is to create Z-shape, so in order to make it less boring, they mostly ask from you to make exactly this shape. Which works exactly the opposite way as having to make Z-shapes all the time becomes boring and annoying. I can't speak for more than the part I played, there may be some things to improve even in the scaling of the gameplay in later level. It is really pity, that someone has come so close to the quality of the legendary bestselling match-3 games but did it without proper sensitivity and so screwed every aspect of it in a bit, dragging possible bestseller to mediocricity. I am serious - if you want to remake it the proper way, don't hesitate to contact me here on Steam - I am not here daily, but I will come and read your message sooner or later. I believe this game can be remade into top bestseller. The word then will spread through time and you will see my word come to reality.

I bought this on offer, so I paid a fraction of the normal price. Also, I understand that the game is no longer being supported. Having said that, I've spent quite a while on it already. Each stage needs you to have reached a certain level in previous stages which is sometimes very tricky, and I've played some levels several times. I'm not keen on the timed levels and you do have to pass them but I'm rather slow and I just about managed it. But it's fun. I like being able to draw lines between jewels rather than having to swap them, and there are different challenges in each next stage of the game. It gets a bit samey but it also gets more challenging so it's held my interest so far.
Excelente juego, para el precio entrega una cantidad de diversión bastante duradera. Aún no lo termino, sin embargo tiene una mecánica adictiva y agradable. Además de que es novedoso. Dentro del género creo que está excelente. 8/10
A little bit addicting, noting new just match 3 kind of game. Meh
Nice Match 3 game where you create figures to win. Play it. Agradable juego de Emparejar 3 piezas donde formas figuras para ganar. Recomendado.
Royal Gems, developed and published by 8Floor, is a colorful match-3 puzzle game that blends traditional gem-matching gameplay with light progression systems, magical power-ups, and a treasure-filled fantasy setting. Designed for players who enjoy casual puzzle experiences, the game focuses on delivering a steady stream of rewards, upgrades, and satisfying board-clearing combinations. While it follows many conventions established by the genre, it succeeds through polished execution, generous content, and an enjoyable sense of progression that keeps players engaged throughout its lengthy campaign. The game's premise revolves around exploring the vast treasure chambers of a wealthy kingdom. Players venture deeper into these vaults in search of priceless riches, magical artifacts, and valuable gems. Rather than relying on an elaborate storyline, Royal Gems uses its treasure-hunting theme as a backdrop for the puzzle-solving experience. This simple approach works well because it keeps attention focused on gameplay while still providing enough context to make progression feel meaningful. Every completed stage feels like another step toward uncovering the kingdom's hidden wealth. At its core, the game revolves around matching gems on a puzzle board. The basic mechanics are easy to understand and immediately accessible, allowing players to jump into the action without a lengthy learning process. However, Royal Gems introduces an interesting twist by encouraging players to create specific shapes and patterns rather than simply matching gems in straight lines. These special formations generate powerful bonuses and create opportunities for large chain reactions, adding an extra layer of strategy to an otherwise familiar formula. One of the game's strongest features is its progression system. As levels are completed, players earn resources that can be invested in various upgrades. These upgrades improve special abilities, strengthen bonuses, and make future challenges more manageable. This persistent progression creates a rewarding sense of advancement that extends beyond individual levels. Even difficult stages contribute to long-term growth, ensuring that players always feel they are moving forward. The bonus abilities play a central role in maintaining excitement throughout the campaign. Powerful effects can clear large sections of the board, trigger chain reactions, or help overcome particularly challenging objectives. Learning how to maximize these abilities becomes an important part of the strategy. As players unlock improvements and experiment with different combinations, the game becomes increasingly satisfying, particularly when multiple bonuses activate simultaneously and transform the board in spectacular fashion. Another engaging feature is the game's reward system. Treasure, resources, and special bonuses are distributed frequently, creating a constant sense of accomplishment. The game rarely allows players to feel stagnant, instead ensuring that every completed challenge contributes toward unlocking something new. This steady flow of rewards helps maintain motivation and makes the experience highly addictive in the best possible way. The amount of content available is impressive for a casual puzzle title. With eight episodes and a total of 160 levels, Royal Gems offers a substantial campaign that can easily provide many hours of entertainment. The large number of stages allows the game to gradually introduce new challenges and objectives while maintaining a comfortable learning curve. Players who enjoy lengthy puzzle adventures will find plenty of content to explore. The difficulty progression is handled effectively. Early levels serve as a gentle introduction, teaching players the mechanics while building confidence. Later stages become more demanding, requiring efficient use of bonuses and careful planning. The increasing complexity ensures that the game remains engaging without becoming excessively punishing. This balance between accessibility and challenge is one of the reasons the experience remains enjoyable throughout its duration. Visually, Royal Gems embraces a vibrant fantasy style that fits its treasure-hunting theme perfectly. The colorful gems, sparkling effects, and richly decorated backgrounds create an attractive presentation that constantly rewards the player with visual feedback. Watching large combinations trigger explosions of color across the board is consistently satisfying, and the polished presentation helps elevate even the simplest matches. The audio design complements the visuals nicely. Cheerful music accompanies the gameplay, creating a relaxing atmosphere that encourages extended play sessions. Sound effects provide satisfying feedback whenever gems are matched or bonuses are activated. While the soundtrack is not particularly memorable, it serves its purpose well and contributes to the game's comfortable pace. Accessibility is another area where Royal Gems performs exceptionally well. The controls are intuitive, objectives are clearly explained, and the interface remains easy to navigate. New players can quickly understand the mechanics, while experienced match-3 fans can immediately focus on optimizing their strategies. The game succeeds in being approachable without sacrificing depth entirely. Its biggest weakness lies in its familiarity. Although the shape-matching mechanics and progression systems add some individuality, the core gameplay remains firmly rooted within established match-3 conventions. Players who have extensive experience with similar puzzle games may find that many aspects feel recognizable. The game refines existing ideas rather than introducing major innovations. The narrative is also minimal. While the treasure-hunting theme provides a pleasant setting, storytelling remains secondary to puzzle-solving. Those looking for memorable characters or an elaborate fantasy adventure may find the plot somewhat limited. Fortunately, the game's primary focus is clearly on its puzzles, and it rarely pretends to be anything else. Ultimately, Royal Gems succeeds because it understands the strengths of the genre and builds upon them effectively. The combination of satisfying puzzle mechanics, meaningful progression, frequent rewards, and a substantial amount of content creates a consistently enjoyable experience. It may not revolutionize match-3 gaming, but it delivers a polished and highly entertaining version of the formula that casual puzzle fans have come to love. For players who enjoy relaxing puzzle adventures, colorful presentations, and progression systems that constantly reward their efforts, Royal Gems offers a highly enjoyable journey. Its blend of accessible gameplay, upgrade mechanics, and treasure-themed charm makes it an easy recommendation for anyone seeking a polished and content-rich match-3 experience. Rating: 7/10

I really wanted to recommend this game. The game play is great, the controls are responsive, the matching is fun. However there is ultimately not much skill involved and you can get stuck very easy which makes it impossible to get three stars for the level. They have a near slot machine which adds some more fun to it. You can also power up your... power ups. But if you get stuck with un-matchable gems at the bottom, that is pretty much it. You are stuck and then you stay stuck getting only three matches when you really need at least 4. If there were items you could use to alter the grid or something that put skill back into the game I would very much recommend this. But as the way it is, it is a luck game that pretends to be a skill game. Also no achievements...
nice and good, ideal for childrens mind developing, however, the game itself has an inovative ideas, so enjoy it!
