This game was great yesterday. Today, they took out everything that made this game fun. Prior to today, matches were about 20 minutes. During this time, you ran around and farmed various resources to build the items you wanted, all the while participating in the typical battle royale game type. This was fantastic, you could make your own build and change how each hero plays, and it gave the game its "MMORPG" feel. As of today, crafting has been removed from the game, and matches are roughly 3-5 minutes. You usually fight one team/player and the game ends. You no longer try to build your hero a certain way, just get the strongest stuff you can off the first drop and kill any actual players that are in your match. Boom, game done, on to the next. It's pretty awful. If they revert this update, I cannot recommend this game highly enough. Pre-update I was LOVING this game, and telling everyone about it. Now, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. It's a shame, as I thought this game was poised to see a desperately needed surge in population. It's highly likely this update permanently kills the game. So, for now, negative review. This update has been universally panned, so if reverted, I will change my review.

Actually impossible to unlock anyone for free. Cost's 18,000 gold to unlock a single person and even unlocking every single achievement in the game you only end up with 17.4k gold in total.
I brought 1125 diamonds, but text box told me, “please try again later” ? I have paid but didn’t get anything. Please fix this or contact me immediately!!
Thumbs Down for the MTX not the IN MATCH MECHANICS, cuz those are FKING FANTASTIC! TL;DR at the bottom. I was loving this game till i decided to try to buy a hero... now as i played i realized that this game either IS a cellphone game port, or was made like one, which left the issue of buying heros, monsters, or anything progression related behind a pay wall. Sure you can get heros through in game currency - at 18k currency a pop, that doesn't sound to bad though right? The issue is the only way to get currency isn't by playing the game, it's by playing a mini game to complete quests OUTSIDE of the matches to get gold. How much gold you ask? 60-80 gold a quest. These quests are along the lines of this: Cut 15 trees - 60 g craft 10 times - 60 g kill 15 players - 80 g and can't be multi-completed in one match even though the cut/craft ones seem to regen. Now that's not all too bad right? You still get gold for how well you do in a match, RIGHT? HA. HA. HA. no... and that's the biggest issue i have. This is basically League/Dota meets Apex/PUBG. Which gating currency behind quests only causes a weird kind of bottle neck of power - you either buy diamonds or suffer painfully waiting for 18k gp at 60gp-80gp a pop. So with being generous with the math and saying that you always get atleast 70 gp that's 257.1 quest - rounded to 258 since you can't complete 0.1 of a quest. Now let's say you complete 3 quests a match that's 86 matches for one champion. You start with 3 and have another 2 on "f2p rotation" leaving 7 other champions unavailable for newbies. 9 champions X 86 matches = 774 matches or 2322 quests with no way to reduce that other than to pay for diamonds. So, yes, technically you CAN F2P buy all the champions. HOWEVER the grind is much similar to Rainbow 6 Siege in that it's painfully slow on purpose to push you to pay for them instead of doing the grind. Now i'm not hating on this game - the 2 hours i played i loved, but the way to unlock heros is beyond annoying... I'd rather buy the game for 10-15 USD and get all the champions with it than be hounded to Cellphone/Farmville MTX. On the note of the MTX - I saw reviews of people buying 1200 gems, getting their money taken, and not getting the gems which makes me EXTREMLY wary of purchasing ANY MTX from this game... at no point should any game with ANY MTX take a players REAL LIFE MONEY and not give them what they paid for. EDIT: Another issue with the MTX is each hero is about 9 USD each at which at 12 heros to unlock is 108 USD... for cellphone quality game and heros... i can think of ALOT better games to buy/spend 108 USD on that are F2P/P2P with MTX. To add to that the skins for each champion cost ATLEAST 2000 diamonds, or 18 USD, and i personally wouldn't spend that kind of money per hero per skin for this level of GFX... TL;DR: I loved the game and the mechanics IN A MATCH, but the way to unlock heros is exactly like a cellphone game and i feel that's kind of scummy - i'd rather just have to P2P and get the heros instead of F2P and be forced to grind till i gave up and just paid real money for the heros.
The new patch 29JUL2020, crafting cards and runes have been deleted. Doing so, you would rather delete the game.
A love child of Ragnarok / Tree of Savior, League of Legends and Battlerite battle royale, with extra sprinkles of resource management. However the most interesting thing is that it actually manages to take the best ideas from all of them and blends it all in very well in a single game, but fails to deliver on very trivial things and errors which can be fixed rather easily. At first look, graphics dont exactly look that mesmerizing, even though the artstyle is very nice, but that is until you realize this game features crossplay with smartphones which is a very important thing when it comes to population nowadays and is very important to mention. However, despite it being a mobile game as well, controls feel responsive, you wont see any big buttons that clutter your view and port was done fairly well. There are still few issues like having to click on chat box to type (despite pressing enter beforehand), but beyond that it works pretty alright. Being a person who only spent few hours trying out League / Tree of Savior / Ragnarok and Battlerite BR which didnt manage to lure me in, Royal Crown managed to do it very fast, even to the point where i went to explore map deeply to memorize all the best locations and start researching builds and counters. It even inspired me to write a guide/database with all items from game, but you can read up more about it in guides section of RC. So after some time i realized what it is.. This game is a perfect gateway for people who wanted to play MOBAs, but never managed to get into them. For example, It feels pointless for me to start playing League now, there are players who have been playing for decade and it is literally impossible to catch up to them. Even if i try playing casually, there will be at least one or two people in match who are smurfs and are probably very experienced when it comes to gear, counters, and overall gameplay and having so much information coming at you all at once gets very overwhelming. We know that so many MOBAs tried taking their piece of pie, but none of them have been successful and couldn't even stand next to League/Dota, even Battlerite which had very radical changes couldn't do much and failed. We wont see new MOBAs on PC for long time, but RC manages to provide not just an alternative, but a different game from traditional MOBAs. So despite being a very nice game on its own, its a perfect answer for post-MOBA, MOBA-like games. Everyone is new so you can catch up to everyone else very fast game knowledge wise and you have much higher chance to win based on experience. Also f*** towers and bases, you only have to worry about your own life here. ------------------ Very long introduction aside, let me talk about the game itself. Royal Crown is a Battle Royale game with MOBA style gameplay mechanics. It also includes crafting as its core mechanic. Matches are played either in Solo or 3 player squads with 60 players per match (although it will always be at least 50% of bots in the player count). You start off by picking one out of 15 different characters, 3 of which are available as base characters + 2 characters which are on daily free rotation. Game starts off by usual jumping out of aircraft equivalent which for this game is a flying ship, after that you proceed to drop towards the ground and open the parachute at set height. Now here comes to interesting part, the game always pits you to choose what to do first. There are many options - hot dropping into best towns to fight early on for gear and try to gank people with your teammates; go farming for materials which are spread far apart, or perhaps hunting monsters for exp and gear. Whatever you choose to do, if you want to win, you will have to keep doing one of those to stay strong enough to deal with enemies. Match is, as per usual, won by staying the last person/group alive and it features knockdown/bleedout - your teammates can heal you when you are knocked down unless you bleed out or get finished off by enemy. However, you still arent dead, your teammates can pick up your grave and revive you at Goddess statues which are located in towns, or if very lucky via portable Goddess statue item. When it comes to equipment, it is separated by 5 different equipment slots for weapons and armor, one accessory slot and 3 attribute card slots. Additionally by equipping armor or weapon you also unlock a rune slot for each item equipped making it 5 rune slots total. You cannot gather all of these in one place, you have to visit different places to find each. Armor and weapons are found in chests in towns and they also drop from PvE mobs, accessories are crafted from wood which is found in bright, grassy areas; attribute cards are crafted from papyrus which is found next to water and runes are crafted from magic stones which are found in dark and rocky areas. By the time you gather decent equip, you will already be in late mid - late game and hopefully ready to fight others for the victory. There are also consumables in this game, which are extremely important and can be complete game changers. If you are very skilled player you can literally knock the enemy out of the small end game zone and get a default victory by them dying to zone damage. There are also stun consumables extremely useful for running away, hp shield, debuff removal, speed increase and even teleporting through walls, which can be a difference between victory and defeat. Besides combat ones, there are hp / mana potions which heal you quickly, and there is also food which is slow healing but completely heals you once you finish eating it. There is no passive hp regen, so you should always have some food. Moving on to the characters and their skills. Characters are very diverse, spanning from Magic and Physical damage type assassins, tanks, marksmen, and even healers; and a lot of skills are copied from League of Legends, but characters usually have only or two of them copied. Despite their damage type, all characters can still equip every single item in game. Each character has 1 passive, 3 skills and 1 ultimate skill. Everyone starts off as Level 1 and has choice to upgrade one of 3 skill each level up. Each skill has 5 different stages - max level is 15. Passive skills and ultimate cannot be upgraded, and ultimate is charged by dealing damage - it doesnt have a cooldown and it doesnt fill automatically, so if you want to use your ultimate, you must do enough damage to charge it up. Monetization consists out of 3 currencies, Gold - earned by playing, Crowns - used for cosmetics and Gems - paid. There are no pay to win items, you can only purchase characters, cosmetics and battle pass. The game is generous with cosmetic items as well. However the big problem are character prices, it takes about 30 hours of playtime to unlock one (18k gold), and after that its almost impossible to unlock another one since you only gain gold from achievements which have limited amount. This is a huge issue, making the game p2w since you essentially can unlock only one character for free. But issues dont end here, this game is suffering from very weird bad launch bugs, server issues, and worst thing - silent developers. Purchasing items with real money is bugged for a lot of people, they spent money but didnt receive the items, which is extremely hurtful for reputation of game, especially this early on, and leaves very bad first impressions. Map could also use rework, characters need better balance, and overall much better support and communication from devs. Pros: - Great middle ground of MOBA and BR games - Beautiful artstyle - Large amount of gear makes matches always active, intense and innovative - Very fun combat - Interesting characters - Free cosmetics - No pay to win items* - Good PC port - Crossplay Cons: - You can earn enough gold to purchase only ONE character - Expensive characters (p2w) - Silent devs - Some characters need balancing - Cheaters - Bugs
I would definitely recommend it. Pros: + u can play both solo and in team, + it's easy to learn, + games are quick (15mins), + u can play both on pc or mobile on your phone Cons: - u get some bots instead of players, but hopefully it's gonna change if the game will be more popular, - still has some minor bugs it is still early access tho - squad mode require 3 players and if u are queuing u can get random player or no player at all which means u can play 2 people against 3 and that's the worst moment trust me Game is a good mix between battle-royal and moba game, which I really like. It's easy to learn, but some characters require much more skill than others. I love to play as a Spark which some people says he's the worst tier and I disagree with that as i beat 'S' class characters played by experienced players. Don't listen to people who says u can't beat other character in solo ladder - test different builds, items and play style and trust me that u can outplay many players. Yes I agree that characters are expensive and I think it's not that bad as u get new character rotation every 24 hours, so u can try all of them for free and decide which one suits you the best. Whats more u can get plenty of coins just by playing the game, completing both daily and achievement missions even the 'premium' diamonds which normally costs real money.

Hello, I'm one of the players of Royal Crown with 300+ hours of playtime. I really love your game but the current version has some problems that I want to share from my opinion, in hope that it might help in some way. I'll try to be as subjective as possible and without any hateful comments. It will also be a bit big wall of text, so I hope you have some spare time to read. Firstly, I would like to say that I like the previous itemize system so much. By previous, I mean the one where almost everything drops from chests, and the material is only for upgrading and crafting consumables. Why do I like it? Because it's a system that makes it easier to fight early. If you get really lucky, you can just go ham and hunts everyone in the early game. For me, this game is fun when I get to fight, but not so fun when I have to walk around gathering stuff for too long. I can see that the current system encourages you to walk around a lot, and that will help increase the chance of finding other players. But if what players have are only base materials that don't increase their stats in any way, they will most likely avoid fighting until they're able to craft some armors. (Which happened with the very early crafting system as well) One other good point of the previous system is that it's very easy to learn, and that's very good for new players. When I see this new system, I see a steep learning curve that I have to remember where my necessary materials are, "for each champion". And that can be a big turn-off for many people who just want to try the game. What you need to learn in the previous system is just what armors do you want for this champion, while the new system needs not only what armors do you want but also what and where the materials are. Another aspect I don’t like in the new itemize system is, it’s really hard to play in squad mode. In my opinion, I think your game is most balanced and fun in the 3 man team environment. Because each champion has their own strength and weakness which create a very interesting strategy and gameplay in a team fight. And why is the new system bad for squad mode? It’s because of how materials are scattered everywhere. Each champion needs different materials, so it will be really hard to stick together, which is a very important thing to do in squad mode. While this system is bad for squad mode, I think it’s a perfect system for solo mode. But the problem is, fundamentally, your game is not very balanced in a solo environment. Because of how champions are designed to have some strength and weakness, some champions will be bad to play solo, while others might excel at it. (Most of the time it’s burst DPS/mobile champions who are good at solo, while the crowd-control/healing are very hard to play.) So, if you want your game to be balanced in solo mode, you might have to re-balance champions a whole lot. One problem I see happen sometimes in the previous system is that people often camp after they get their full set of items (Because of how fast and easy to get). But this problem is already solved in many ways. For example, the magnetic field. Of course, it will take some time, but people will be eventually forced to fight. Another thing that helps is the chest icon on the map. Because of how it will be gray after that chest is being looted, you can track other players’ movement with it and can go hunt them. Another thing that is not quite related to the itemize system but is a very big turning point of the game is, when you close squad mode for almost 2 seasons, and open it periodically. Before that, a lot of people play squad mode so much that it’s almost has a full room every time I play. (I play in SEA server.) But after you close squad mode for that long, a lot of people left the game entirely. I think that’s a very unfortunate situation. I don’t know the situation why you made that decision, but I’m sure the statistic might show that people enjoy squad mode a lot more than the other. So I hope you take this into consideration if it’s matching your direction of the game. I think that’s all from me. To summarize my thought, I’ll make a bullet point of pros and cons for each itemize system. Previous itemize system (Everything drops from chests and materials are only for upgrading and crafting consumables) Pros: +Very easy to learn, which is good for new players +Encourage fast gameplay and early fights +Easy for a team to stick together because every chest contain the same loot Cons: -Easy to camp because you’re not forced to move around that much -A bit repetitive moving route Current itemize system (Everything needs base materials to craft which are scattered everywhere) Pros: +Encourage people to move around a lot, which denies camping strategy +Makes moving route a bit more interesting Cons: -Harder to learn than the previous system -Hard to play in squad mode because each champion need different materials -Takes more time to gather stuff before you can fight However, this is only my opinion and my preference, and I know that there are people who enjoy the current version of this game more than the old one. Whatever you will do with your game, I hope it's going to the direction you want and success. PS. This is just some minor nitpick, so please don’t care too much about it. I think some word choices you use is not very fit the aesthetic of the game. For example, magnetic field and chest being generated. These two phrases sound very futuristic while the game aesthetic is a kind of medieval fantasy looking. I think you can change the magnetic field into something like, “dark field”, “death aura”, something along those lines. And for the chest, you can just use “dropped” instead of “generated”, like it’s being dropped from the airship.
Not bad
Honestly, the game is kinda fun in concept, you gather materials and craft gear. Gear diversity, there is no best build, all depends on what you want to do. Game is lacking in a bunch of ways though: No NA server, pretty laggy. Not enough players. Some characters are just too weak, not many that's too OP but a few that's just too weak. Crafting isn't implemented well, wish it's not just a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ mobile port, but rather a more developed pc version. Tutorial doesn't really cover what you need to do to get a full build. The control sucks, why do you drop with WASD but control with right click? Honestly, it's a mobile game port, just make it WASD, control would be much smoother. Especially since if you change the hotkeys, it will change back the next game. Sniper class really generally bad because attack move isn't quick cast and can't be changed. Pro tip: shift right click is quick cast attack move, but they never tell you this.
