Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

At the time of this review there are 20 levels to play. This took me around 30 minutes to beat. I spent some extra time trying to get achievements which seemed either locked or broken. Only the first achievement seemed to work. I played the game with a mouse and the controls were very simple. The level rotates either left or right based on which side of the level you are on. The game design is novel and levels are moderately fun, though some levels feel like they have unintended solutions. Currently the user interface is cryptic with very few words. Navigating the menu seems harder than it should. Additionally, in the area for level select there seems to be space for many new levels to be made. This along with oddly named achievements (placeholders I assume) make the game seem like it is either unfinished or in the process of being updated. Ultimately this game is mostly fun, but due to being short and the issues listed above I would not recommend this game. If these issues do not bother you then feel free to check this out.
Warning: Asset Flip!
Rotatex is an asset flip, what Valve calls a "fake game". The "developer", Dnovel/FreeAnimals/Trinity Project (the guy uses a number of accounts to mislead gamers and try to hide his identity, no surprises given the unethical behavior the developer continues to inflict on Steam), took a template from the godawful Cocos2D engine (giving GameMaker Studio a run for it's money as the worst thing that happened to PC gaming), slapped a couple of asset flipped sprites on it, and dumped the results onto Steam as a cash grab scam. Dnovel/FreeAnimals has shown a repeated pattern of ripping off Cocos2D and other game engine templates and dumping them on Steam. Don't believe me? Here's some other asset flips from exactly the same template, all shamelessly dumped on Steam as nasty cash grabs by Dnovel/FreeAnimals/Trinity Project:

"LP", copy + pasted from the same template by Dnovel
"Rotatex 2", copy + pasted from the same template by Dnovel
"Spinning_Kid", copy + pasted from the same template by Dnovel
"Spinning_Kid_2", copy + pasted from the same template by Dnovel
"White Rabbit", copy + pasted from the same template by Dnovel
Look for yourself... these are all reskins of exactly the same game! The products that result from asset flips aren't "real" games. They lack depth and content, because they're just simplistic copies of demos or tutorials. In this case, "Rotatex" is just a simple Cocos2D template for making a rotating puzzle, and a direct ripoff of the Unity asset "Freeze X" by Andrew Oleynik, and doesn't have any merit as a proper, fully fledged PC game, so a copy+paste of it can't be recommended. Asset flips don't involve any professional game development. Sure, sometimes they may change a few cosmetic things, swap out different assets etc, but at heart it's functionally identical to the asset they're ripping off. Asset flips are an insult to both PC gamers and to professional game developers who create genuine, high quality PC games. Asset flips like this are harmful to the gaming industry and to Steam because they reduce the visibility that sincerely made indie games should have. They make it harder for gamers to find genuine games made by honest developers. To cement the position of this asset flip as nothing but a cash grab, it was dumped onto cheap DailyIndieGame shovelware bundles very shortly after launch. Don't reward this morally bankrupt, unethical behaviour from Dnovel/FreeAnimals/Trinity Project.
Warning: Review Manipulation!
This game features a number of fake positive reviews from accounts known to be in the business of review manipulation/paid reviews. They're all written in either Russian or broken English, appear almost immediately after the game launched on Steam, all have a direct Steam purchase of the game, and the accounts are used consistently to write fake reviews for asset flips and other cash grabs/scams. The "Positive" review score on this game should be disregarded due to this review manipulation.
Fanstastic little indie gem that is much much more fun than I thought it would be from watching the trailer! Watch some gameplay on this stream and go to about 45 min into the stream: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ronFRuEDUZ8&t=2856s Definitely worth the price!
Fun little game. The price is reasonable and I think fair for what it is.
The game offers some pleasant graphics and really vibrant colours, although some strange elements here and there, it is pleasant all the same. The game does suffer with some repetitiveness at certain areas of the game but a fun game nontheless. Good job.
