simple and tough, i think you must find balance between farming/progression before time runs out. everytime i die it always comes out of left field. never seen it coming. More like Chaos Rocks! The choice of starting craft are abysmal, clearly this game was only made around the first craft choice. they have "stats" like different hp or speed, with the game collision is a nightmare pinball. Anyways Steam does not count this game in your library totals at this time or achievements to your totals. safe for kids no fun with friends
Great little game, gets surprisingly hard. I can confirm it includes some rogue rocks

Great game. It is difficult at times but feels great when you succeed. A nice take on the asteroids style game. Try it
Rogue Rocks is an unabashed ripoff of the 1979 Atari arcade game, Asteroids. Despite 40 years between Asteroids hitting the Arcades and this train wreck being dumped on Steam, there is almost no improvement worth mentioning. The developers added a couple of ships with different control characteristics and a primitive upgrade system. Because the asteroids are generated randomly, just like the original game 40 years earlier, the developers slapped the "roguelike" tag on it because I guess they thought crappy buzzwords would make them seem competent. The developers were incapable of making the game work in widescreen, there's no HD resolution, resolution is fixed at a very low level and falls beneath minimum standard for PC. There is a working fullscreen mode but it displays 4:3 pillarboxed. Who's still using a 4:3 CRT in 2019? There's two kinds of indie devs. Scammers, like the Russian asset flippers who push out a minimally viable product to get onto Steam and just try to scrape money out of bundles, trading cards and achievement spam, and Starbucks employees who are genuinely deluded enough to think they can become game developers despite no actual game development company ever wanting to hire them. I believe this is a case of the latter, because despite the gaming industry having moved on 41 years since 1979, the people here made something roughly the same as an ancient arcade game which you can play for free in a browser, couldn't work out how to make widescreen work, but expect people will pay $7.50 for it. Once more, Starbucks employees making the entire body of video gaming worse than it was by thinking they could contribute to it. I do not recommend this game.
Sometimes all you need is a simple shooting game like this...
It's a big meh. For one, it's simply classic "Asteroids" - nothing new, nor any interesting twist, save for a simplistic upgrade/roguelike system. Which can be fine for a few minutes inbetween. The only reason I don't feel like giving a thumbs up is the amount of random deaths, when rocks come speeding in from off-screen (since the visible area is rather small), sometime in pair/group, ending your run by using your ship as a ping-pong-ball. Dunno whether this is intended to simulate difficulty (since it's pretty easy otherwise), or just a hickup of the programming. In any case, this is just to annoying and hinders the game to fall in either the "relaxing" or "challening" category. Maybe try it out after a sale.
I played 2 and a half hours and got all the achievements. Ultimately I ask myself, did I have fun? No. I was just angry and bored. I couldn't even listen to an audiobook while I played, because I needed to concentrate. It's asteroids. The most fun I had was imagining how people would react if I had a time machine and ported this to an arcade three or four decades ago.
100% Completion Review: 4.6 hours to 100% this game and honestly I had really good luck throughout. Rogue Rocks is a take on the classic game Asteroids, but with it's own unique spin. The game is simple, progress through the 5 zones (8 zones on hard) to eventually make it to the black hole for victory. Easy right? Wrong. To pass these levels, you need to collect enough money, which you get from destroying asteroids. Each of these asteroids are unique depending on the zone that you are in, and some are a lot more difficult to destroy than others. (For example: One on the asteroids will randomly change direction in close proximity to you and will attempt to rush straight into you.) There are three different ships that you can choose from (Bolt-Beam-Gunner). You can grab upgrades while you play that increase your life, damage, and speed. It can get quite difficult especially in hard mode as you have to constantly be moving around as the amount of asteroids is a lot. If you are looking to play something similar to the original asteroids, then this isn't a bad game to fill the void.
GamePad controls require improvement.
